Strickland signed for the rest of 04-05 season. A co-worker just told me he heard it on the radio 790AM I'm busy with work and usually listen to Rome, so I didnt exactly here it. The co-worker isnt a big Rockets fan so he doesnt know too much about the PG tryouts as of late, but he did know about Brandin Knight, after I mentioned I thought it was odd to sign Strickland after we just signed Knight to a 10 day. Apparently the report also mentioned Knight. "Strickland is the savior?"- He joked.
Knight dropped Strickland picked up its true they just cut brandin knight and rod strickland just signed 610 am just said it. gotta love getting older
I just heard on 610 that we signed Strickland and released Knight. Not sure what type of contract it is though.

http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/Rockets_Sign_Strickland_Relea-129117-34.html The Houston Rockets have signed free agent guard Rod Strickland, General Manager Carroll Dawson announced today. In a related move, the Rockets have released guard Brandin Knight, who made one scoreless appearance after signing a 10-day contract on Sunday. Strickland comes to Houston ranked seventh in NBA history with 7,948 career assists and 19th all-time with 1,613 career steals. “Rod gives us another experienced veteran in our backcourt,” Dawson said. “He will give us more depth, as we fight through an assortment of injuries.” Strickland has averaged 13.4 points, 7.4 assists and 1.50 steals in 1,078 career games with New York, San Antonio, Portland, Washington, Miami, Minnesota, Orlando and Toronto. He has posted a double-figure scoring average in 12 of his 16 seasons, including a career-high 18.9 points per game with Portland during the 1994-95 season. The 6-3, 185-pound guard earned All-NBA Second Team honors following the 1997-98 season, when he led the NBA with a career-high 10.5 assists per game. The 38-year-old Strickland averaged 6.3 points and 4.0 assists in 61 games with Orlando and Toronto last season. my bad if there is a thread merge them please i apologize
So we sign the guy after finding out he had a terrible workout with us? GOOD MOVE! So does this make us stupid, pathetic or both?
Bob Sura's injury last night might have been real serious because I don't know a how a guy 38 get in shape in 3 days.

We knew this was coming on Monday after Craig Segar on TNT reported that the Rockets were very interested in signing Strickland, but we didnt want to sign him until he was in "game shape" and that's why we picked up Knight to be a "stop gap" insurance policy until that time. I am a bit surprised that only lasted one game though. But apparently Strickland must have shown enough to the Rockets over the last few days to show that he is ready to play. OR Sura is getting in worse off shape and we desperately need a Vet PG on the roster "just in case."
Old and a former Knick. How could we have waited so long to sign him? Is Derek Harper still available?
How many 38+ year old, out of shape has-been PGs we will sign with JVG at the reign? M. Jackson last year, R. Strickland this year, and John Stockton next year?
Rod Strickland's New Workout Video: "72 Hours Away From The NBA" How did the guy go from not in game shape 3-4 days ago to signed?
I am waiting for the Rox to get to the point where signing a 38 yr old actually makes the team younger
My dad who is a young looking 65 year old is ready to work out for JVG and make some extra bucks with the Rockets.
I actually like this signing. Strickland is a true point guard with a lot of years (maybe one or 2 too many) under his belt. I think he will be of more use to us than Knight would have.
