Knicks working on S&T deal with Rockets for Rivers

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if the knicks give us Obi Toppin given how their FO sucks. A pick and/or TPE would be nice though.

 

Strange, it’s either just for a TPE or maybe a Eric Salary dump being expanded to give the team a larger TPE.


Eric + Austin + FRP for DSJ probably works for both sides.

Interesting, there are other teams trying to dump salary for good players. This is in addition to the Hornets-Celtics SnT for Hayward, dumping Batum's 27M.

"Other contracts that may be moved include Indiana’s Victor Oladipo and San Antonio’s DeMar DeRozan. Oladipo is due to make $21 million this season while DeRozan will earn $27 million."

Kevin Pelton was saying the Knicks would get a future first in return for taking on Batum's contract. (which I find kind of hard to believe)



If I'm understanding him correctly, giving one player away would allow them to stay under the cap after taking Batum. Perhaps that player would come to us in exchange for Rivers instead of going to Charlotte. I'm probably not understanding something very basic though

 

EGo for Randle works cap wise.

The more I look at Omari Spellman the more I like him. Shoots the three, 6'10, 7'2 wingspan, Villanova guy. Works for me!

 

A trade sending out Gordon would make sense give. The glut of guards we picked up.

 

Randle is not a better fit than EGo on this Rockets team but if there are other assets attached .... nah.

His salary is actually bigger than EGo's and would have to add House too unless Rockets will be using TPE to absorb the difference.

Not sure this is best for THIS season.

 

What’s his fitness like currently?

 

He lost weight and got his game right when he was traded to GSW from Hawks.

 

I hope that Noel 5M one year for Rivers would be possible, while keeping under the 139 M Cap limit.

Nope. Noel cannot be traded.

 

Depth at the 4/5 sounds good to me after being undersized for years. Even with Cap we still played somewhat small.
