For sure. I'm assuming the Knicks don't think too highly of Harrington judging by the original three-way rumor that essentially had the Knicks sending out expirings + Harrington and receiving back just McGrady. I know that was a complicated three team trade, but the point is NY appeared willing to do a deal under those parameters (if those rumors had any merit, of course). But yeah, clearly the holdup here is Jordan Hill. Personally, I think Donnie Walsh is really THAT convinced that McGrady is still a special player and that he can retain him this summer thus using him as an asset to lure a key free agent(s). You know how it is with these stars -- they still have the utmost respect for McGrady and they'll be captivated with the idea of playing with him. Compound all that with how unimpressive Hill has been, I have a hard time believing his inclusion is necessarily a deal-breaker. But, yes, I do realize these are some unfounded assumptions on my part. Just saying....
I would love to resign Al Harrington after the season (4-8 million). He would fit this system great because he is a good scorer and a great 3 point shooter.
In the grand scheme of things, giving up Hill isn't that big a deal. It's not like he's proven himself. He's potential. He's not going to be a factor in whether Lebron, Wade or Bosh sign in NY. Tmac's got potential, and if he's healthy, he could impact a potential Max signing. If Walsh thinks Tmac has anything left in the tank, he needs to pull this deal. Tmac has potential. Tmac could audition the rest of this year, and then resign to play with a Max player. As much as I can't stand the punk, Tmac has skills and if he can give you a couple of productive years, Ny would be the place for him. Every single move by NY has been to set the stage for getting one of the big 3. I think they need to do the Tmac deal. Hill shouldn't be a dealbreaker.
NBA Comparison: Chris Bosh Strengths: One of the most improved players this year … Has the ideal size and length for a PF … He has worked on his body, adding some bulk and definition to an already wiry frame; this new strength allows him to get great position on the block where he is able to utilize a number of moves, but he prefers the left shoulder hook shot … He is comfortable operating from the high post, either shooting a nice looking midrange shot, or utilizing his quickness and putting the ball on the floor to get to the hoop … His faceup game developed nicely; not only has he become a consistent threat out to about 17 feet, but he has added some nice sweep and jab moves to go along with it … Even with the added muscle, he has maintained good mobility and quickness … This season he is playing big minutes but he continues to battle and run the floor, showing a very good motor … He has become a rebounding force on both ends of the floor, he attacks the O glass relentlessly and is able to use his body to control the paint on the defensive end … He has cut down his fouls and increased blocks to 3 per game, proving not only that he is a defensive presence but also that he has become more disciplined … With his developing frame and ability to knock down midrange shots, he has the potential to become a very good weapon in screen & roll situations … Weaknesses: He has definitely come a long way, but his inexperience still shows at times … When operating in traffic or while facing double teams, he struggles, putting his head down and turning the ball over frequently … A part of the problem could be his hands, often times he doesn’t catch the ball clean, which allows the defense to converge on him and get him out of his comfort zone … His athleticism and strength also get him into trouble at times as he tries to bully through the defense rather than take what they give him … On the block he favors his right hand on finishes (even when turning to his right shoulder), usually exposing the ball back to the defender, and making his shots much more difficult than they have to be … While he has made strides with his maturity, there are still periods of lackadaisical play that he goes through … His lack of focus is also seen at the line, where he shoots a poor 60% on the season (he has shown he can be reliable, going 9-12 and 9-10 in separate outings this season) … Source: http://www.nbadraft.net/players/jordan-hill Chris Bosh ceiling?
Well i do know that Portland was after Lee or that Lee was thinking about Portland. So if those 2 teams and Houston are looking at something, than i can see Portland being one of them. Of course if it's in NY best interest to deal both Curry and Jeffries like Bima siad, then i can see them swinging for the fence is the right deal motivates them. Like Gallinari and Bayless some how going to Houston and those 2 contracts. Portland has Outlaw, Blake and other pieces they might be willing to take on as long as Curry and Jeffries was removed. And Portland might have the pieces to move to land Lee.
Harrington is talented, but he is a poor decision maker and he seems like a bit of a chucker. Then again, it's hard to accurately judge anybody who plays for the Knicks. Look at Zach Randolph.
Still, that's pretty solid for the 4 position. With better shot selection, he would have a much more efficient percentages.
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Jordan-Hill-1222/ Close enough on the analysis there I guess. Like the Rockets COULDNT use a cheap Ronny Turiaf type? Maybe Rockets toss in Joey Dorsey or something.
Guys...No way we are getting Gallo, forget about that. Hill is the only one the Knicks would even 'CONSIDER' in this deal. Harrington is a player, I just hope he plays into the system.

I would LOVE to get Jordan Hill. He may not be the most intimidating big man—but he does swat shots, secures rebounds, and has a fabulous wingspan. His post game is very underrated. He doesn’t have the most-explosive moves, but he does get around. And like Luis Scola, he can knock down those 10- to 15-foot jumpers. Give the man a few years and he can become a very polished big man, and a great compliment to Brooks and Co.
I think it is either jordan hill or wilson chandler that it is holding up on. JOrdan hill doesn't make much sense here unless you have another deal in place to move scola or Landry! Either way I can't see the rockets doing a deal that doesn't include those players and maybe 3-team deal with chicago, getting some expiring the rockets don't want.
Thanks. Does he have small hands for his size? We've got one of those players on the team already, don't we?
exactly. honestly, i dont see what the HUGE problem is with taking on jeffries. he comes off the books in 2011. he only makes $7M, and by this time next year the rockets will have 2 semi-large / easy to move expiring contracts (jeffries & shane. it might be easy to add that "major piece" that you were talking about with that package + hill next year.
You know, I bet Morey could get Hill and Gallinari. He can use McGrady to play Chicago against New York. Get involved in serious discussions for Hinrich, Salmons, and Thomas for McGrady, let the rumors get out there publicly. New York would hate it if this happened because they will be competing with Chicago for free agents. If it happens the Bulls get everything the Knicks want, two max free agents and McGrady. So it's in NY's best interest to prevent it from happening. So you go to them on deadline day and say, "If you don't give me Hill + Gallinari + expiring contracts, I'm going to Chicago."
