Why give up two core / semi-core players for Gallinari? Besides, if we get Hill, he is used to playing with Chase already.

As I suggested in another thread, Harrington, Darko and Hill works well -- two expirings and a prospect. Harrington can go in a sign and trade this next summer, and Adelman might be able to salvage Darko by just giving him some playing time. Darko at PF with Yao and then Darko at C paired with Hill potentially could be dynamite while reducing Yao's minutes to save his feet. Scola would give us a really great option at PF, and Landry could be traded for the young, tall, quality SG we need.

NY just doesn't seem like a good trading partner. They don't have anything worthy that they are willing to give up, which goes to my next point; they're not willing to give up anything. Either facilitate a 3 way trade or no trade with NY at all.

not necessarily. hill would just be an asset gained in return for tmac's contract.

he may not be our future plans. maybe we showcase him for the rest of the season and use him in a package with our own pick (maybe late lotto) to move up into the top tier of a draft in an attempt to land a future star.

If we get Hill, Scola becomes extraneous and we probably don't re-sign him in the off-season anyway. Gallinari is better than Budinger... better right now, and more upside in the future.

    Question:

If we trade for Harrington do you look to resign him?

Harrington Will Be Involved In Deal For McGrady
A pair of sources told the New York Post on Sunday night that the Knicks remain in the race to acquire Rockets guard Tracy McGrady.

Any deal sending McGrady to New York would likely center around Al Harrington.

Houston would like to obtain either rookie Toney Douglas or Jordan Hill from New York in the deal as well.

"There's still a chance," one source said, regarding a McGrady-to-New York scenario without a third team involved.

If it's a 1-1 deal, you're getting nothing but maybe Jordan Hill and of course, likely under the LT.
