I would love for the Rockets to get New York's unprotected 2012 draft pick.

I am betting the Knicks and Mcgrady implode and give us a lottery pick in 2011-2012.

A lottery draft pick has a chance of being a superstar, while the other players on the Knicks are not.

    Channel 2 KPRC:

Sources: Knicks and Rockets Talking; Rockets Not Commenting
    NBA Trade Deadline is Thursday

    POSTED: Sunday, February 14, 2010

Houston -- The NBA trade deadline arrives later this week and in Houston all eyes are on Tracy McGrady.

While the Rockets organization is not commenting on any potential move regarding Tracy McGrady, two league sources told KPRC Local 2 February 12 and again Sunday night that McGrady, who is in Chicago, is preparing for a trade to the New York Knicks.

One source, who is very close to the McGrady camp, told KPRC Local 2 Friday that McGrady was prepared to travel to New York by the "middle of this week".

Sunday night the New York Times also reported talks were underway between Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey along with Donnie Walsh and Arn Tellem and that both sides were attempting to get a deal done without a third team involved.

Another NBA league source confirmed with KPRC Local 2 that talks were held Sunday but it was unclear if the two sides were close to striking a deal.

The NBA trade deadline is Thursday. The Rockets resume play at home Tuesday against the Utah Jazz.

Even if it's just for salary/lux tax reasons, I'll be glad when Tmac is gone and this whole drama is behind us.

We won't have to dump an asset like a 2nd round pick or cash just to get rid of Cook and get under the tax threshhold.

I'm frustrated like everyone else but am pretty sure Morey's competent. If there was something to be had, he would have gotten it.

Yeah......that way we can have two guards less than 5'9". What planet are you living on?? Are you going to drug them before you offer the deal??

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Despite the death of a potential Knicks' three-way deal with the Wizards and Rockets for Tracy McGrady, two sources told The Post last night team president Donnie Walsh spent All-Star Sunday in talks with the Rockets about McGrady in a deal expected to center around Al Harrington.

All along, the Rockets have held firm that teams will pony up as Thursday's trading deadline drew closer. They were looking to get one of the Knicks' rookies, Jordan Hill or Toney Douglas. The Bulls also have talked to Houston about McGrady.

Larry Hughes figures to be part of any deal to match McGrady's $23 million expiring contract. There's also a possibility the Knicks may have to throw in $3 million in cash as sweetener.

Alanhahn is on twitter. He is a writer that covers the Knicks....

I still think it's too early to tell where T-Mac lands. I can't see Morey making move on Monday.

I think so. I think the Knicks are trying to get a 3rd team in there so the Rockets finally get some young talent back. I think that's mainly what the Rockets are looking for besides getting under the luxury tax. NYK need T-Mac more than any team out there.

I will be happy if Rockets really trade with Knicks. I don't know what's on table exactly but I do know Knicks management is stupid enough. Morey is going to take advantage if deal done.

Get Philly to be the third team, in a 3 way trade, then we could somehow get Iggy, Hill, Harrington, Danilo. Trade Ariza, T-Mac, and Scola. Not sure if the Salaries work out or not.

I'm sure the Rockets would take Jordan Hill but I think the Knicks are trying to get a 3rd team that can give up that young piece that the Rockets are looking for. I'm not too sure if the Knicks really want to give up Hill...

NY will not trade Gallo. It's not going to happen unless its for LBJ or D. Wade. Mike D is very high on Gallo.

He's still a project that means our team is heading toward rebuild mode if that's our key prize for tmac.
