Dallas in: Evan Turner, Portland 1st, 1.5m cash

Dallas outlook: they ship an expiring and swallow a contract for an asset to help their rebuild. They seem willing to help us take on gsw.


Portland out: Turner, Harkless
Portland in: Ryan, 1.5m cash

Portland outlook: they get a clear clear upgrade and more balanced roster while shedding 2 bad contracts for 1 bad contract. Also, they shave about 8m off their books and would really help there luxury tax bill.

That's not entirely true. He's made 3 trades with them, and one even included Tracy McGrady to NYK (albeit, he was old and expiring) that landed Kevin Martin in Houston. That one came out of nowhere too.

But you do make a great point. The noise is probably coming from the Knicks, especially consideringtheir front office is in flux right now.

It still is a little alarming to me.

If the Cavs were willing to trade Love for Melo they'd have him already.

Problem for the Knicks is exactly that. Cavs and Rockets are trying to stack their teams to beat the Warriors. That means keeping Love, that means keeping Ariza and Gordon.

Not necessarily. Carmelo and LeBron are boys. But you'd need more moving parts to keep the whole thing equitable. Seems the Knicks want to go young, not add pieces that will keep them firmly in the middle.
