    Not only that, but I'm pretty sure originally melo said he was only open to opting out his trade kicker for Houston only?

    That would mean the other teams have to rummage up around 30m?

    Correct me if I'm wrong wrong but I don't think so

    Wtf is Marks saying...it would be not hard at all for OKC to send out 21M in salary, that's Kanter + McDermott or Abrines, nothing more than that...

    The other tweet is interesting though, considering both George and Westbrook are expiring, they would've a lot of money on the books next season eventually, maybe too much...

    The Knicks played hardball and are winning. If it's true that he is expanding his list then we lost all leverage and it's really bad for our chances. If the Knicks were interested in our offer, it would have been a done deal months ago. This isn't a media move to get us to increase our offer. It's bad news.

    Cavs are the biggest threat. With LeBron not committing long term, the Cavs are trying to go all in on this season, but it also made Melo hesitant to go there. If he's desperate to leave NY now.. this is his best path to the Finals, even if it's just for 1 shot. Love isn't involved, but Thompson could be.

    I never thought Melo would add OKC to their list since Russ and PG won't commit long term. If they strike out on Melo, I expect them to trade both PG and RW by the deadline. This is a huge opportunity for them to compete now and get those guys to stay, so I expect them to make their best offer.

    Quite a few other teams have offers out there, but Melo still holds the final say. Maybe the Knicks told him they'd rather have him play out his contract than take the Rockets offer which forces his hand (or ours). So it's on the Rockets now to either step up their offer or remain content with their current roster. I don't know if they are willing to add anyone else because I don't think they feel the same pressure as the other teams.

    So much denial in this thread. Ah well
    We won't compete for the title; Melo would have made it a lot more interesting but at least we have the best backcourt in the league. Could be worse.

    Also, I called OKC months ago for Melo and I stand by my prediction. Makes too much sense.
