    Right. That's the choice Morey is making the Knicks make. Take the Ryno contract or have fun with the conflicting direction. The Knicks obviously want to market the team as developing, talented youth with exciting potential. Melo will be a distraction from that message. The Knicks may very well be ok with that for the short term. And I don't think Melo would mind staying home. But it sure doesn't seem like the Knicks want to hold onto Melo for that circus. Especially with the new image they're trying to establish. That's the decision Morey is making them make.

    It basically boils down to this: If Melo refuses to drop the no-trade clause for any team other than the Rockets, he's ours. He's got them over a barrel.

    The Knicks know they need a fresh start this season and are going to dump Melo at some point. If he only allows them to dump him to us, then the Knicks have no choice, because they're NOT going to keep him all year.

    I still expect him to be in Houston by the start of training camp.
