Once Kyrie is off the board what other players could New York want? He is basically the only player who would be worth trading him for to start a team around him and porgz.

I don't think Portland would trade for Melo because New York would probably say only if Dame or CJ are included to be worth anything.

No other team is really competing for a championship besides GS, Houston, Cavs, Spurs, so why would anyone else waste players or picks for a 33yr old Melo? It would be ****ing dumb

New York either has to trade him or buy him out because he's not really useful to any team besides a true contender

Finally, the possibility of real news.

If this is the case, I hope the Rockets don't cave. Ariza does very little for the Knicks unless they want someone there to teach guys how to be professionals.

    This deal needs to happen.

maybe they want both the rockets 2nd rounder and Ariza or whatever they're worth to 3rd parties.

NY will cave and take a 2nd round pick or something as we approach training camp instead of Ariza if he really is the holdup right now

So, two teams willing to take Ryan, i assume those are two between Portland, Utah, Detroit and Memphis...other teams?

Ariza would play the 3 and has an expiring contract. Knicks have a cubic butt ton (unsure of $, but was posted before) of expiring contracts this yr. They have/want $ to make a big push next off season.

Seriously? We're just going to up and believe that Ariza to the Knicks is whats holding up the trade?

There's no way Trevor is going. That is almost as preposterous as the Rockets including Bobby in a deal. Why would the Knick even want Trevor, if they are so focused on young talent? Zhou Qi and Hartenstein/ Onuaku should be more enticing to NY than 32 year old Trevor. 500 is coming, and there ain't nothing the Knicks can do about it.

Why not though? Ariza is rightfully considered a pretty valuable player and teammate around the league, it's very possible the Knicks want at least a decent name to make the deal look better since it's probably pretty bad for them.

32-year old $7.4M expiring; Knicks probably want to try & flip him later for a pick and of course the Rockets don't want to see him potentially end up on the Spurs, Warriors, Thunder, Wolves or any other playoff contender.

    Nope.

I'm thinking it may boil down to how bad Perry/the Knicks wants to NOT see GSW win another ring next year or at least sweat in the WCFs

I'm still unfamiliar with who are real insiders here. So ch44 is legit?

Ariza is overrated. He's not even a good defender anymore, he doesn't lock anyone down. All he has is the corner 3. He's expendable. Pj Tucker is better than him.

The only reason he's not getting traded is because ariza is friends with Chris Paul.
