I get tired of the "no team will take the contract" talk.

You all were wrong about no team taking Ryno. Someone will take Meyers if that's the contract that has to be moved, but they know they have everyone by the balls and they want to get compensated.

Disappointed players, fans and a livid owner.

I wouldn't want to be the one walking into Mr. Alexander's office and letting him know that they lost Anthony over a draft pick.

Also, I think the fact that the Cavs are trying to get Melo to Cleveland only increases the urgency needed to get the deal done.

The Rockets dicked around trying to get other pieces they wanted in a mega deal, but it is time to just do the deal and worry about getting your center in a separate deal or trade.

That's what happens when you fall in love your you drafted players. You think they'll get better somewhere else so you cave. Morey thankfully has never done that.

So annoying. If we could make a 3 team deal work that got us Love we would be able to do a trade straight up for Melo.

Aside from that, Paul and Harden didn't tell Morey to go get them Love. They want Melo.

melo doesn't need people to get him shots. love does.

drama-im more than willing to bet cp3 and an environment like hou puts all that to rest

no fighting green- no idea what you're trying to say here

no they needed more than a ball handler and boards

can't convince you otherwise? you just listed the most basic things the game entails. there's far more to it then that

Morey was told to spend the money last year and he did.

Having said that, the Rockets are many things (arrogant, unconventional) but they are not stupid.
Morey signed Anderson knowing that he was a movable contract.

Also, this is likely not just a good deal for the Rockets, but the Blazers as well...... they are trading two mediocre players for a very good player and the money is a wash. In fact, I wouldn't be shocked if the Blazers are sending out draft considerations to NY in the deal.

A bad team willing to eat bad contracts in exchange for picks and prospects. There are still teams out there with the cap room to absorb Leonard. It's probably just a matter of finding the right team with the most reasonable asking price.

Love has been playing with lebron, while melo has been creating his own shot. Look at Melo's team USA numbers last tournament 54% from field 50% from three his numbers will sky rocket playing next to Harden and Paul if he buys in, which seems likely due to playing with CP3, and his want to come here and play for MDA again. Love is already playing next to the best player in the NBA efficiency won't change much.

IMO Melo will be perfect fit as well as help recruiting in the future. He will create same space as Ryno; you can't leave Melo he will make you pay from three, and has two other dimensions Ryno did not he can drive finish and drive and kick. Leaving Melo would not be an option for defenses because CP3 and Harden will find him, and a wide open Melo is much more lethal than Klove or Ryno. The evidence is in his team USA performances; Melo is perfect fit next to others that can create. Everything suggests him buying in, and he has CP3 here to keep him in check IMO Melo would be better in our space and pace offense than Klove.

WE WERE ALL WRONG??? the only team rumored to be taking on ryno is sending out crap themselves which consists of a player making $10M for 5pt on 38% shooting locked up another 3 painful years. but we wrong lol :D

Right. I've said all along they could move Ryno.

What makes moving contracts hard is that the other team knows you HAVE to move them. Let's say you are the Nets right now and we've come to you to complete this four team deal. You want a pound of flesh. You want more than your normal asking price to make it happen. Not because you hate Meyers Leonard, but because you know the deal NEEDS you. So now instead of a first you want two first. Or you want the protection dropped. Or you want a first and all the 2nds. Or you want someone's young prospect. You haggle and haggle until you think you've got the best deal you can or you think they are going to walk.

Always dig the holistic big picture perspective you bring. Too many only focus on the current inconveniences of things without taking into accountic realism and big picture long run pros/cons

    I am not either.

I think it is more likely that Portland is giving up a #1.

Having said that, if it takes a #1 to move Leonard at this point, I could see Houston doing it just to get it done and so they know they can move onto other roster moves and worries. Having this dangle over the head of all the players isn't good either, and the last thing the Rockets want is another team helping Cleveland facilitate the deal.
