True, but I think the, "NYK can offer what Rockets want to give up for Melo to the Cavaliers, plus draft picks".......isn't that your addition? I remember the Woj bit as only mentioning teams that put in a bid.....San Antonio, NYK, Miami, Phoenix, Somebody Else, and Someone Else.

 

That's not what I said. What I said was when the idea of replacing bev with another playmaker was brought up the overwhelming majority didn't want to replace Bev with anybody. They wanted to upgrade the forward spots. They did not want to add a playmaker in the bucket and take the ball out of Hardens hands. It was a constant stream of no even after the 13 turnover debacle. Most just wanted a token backup like Pablo and upgrade the other spots.

Completely not true. Plenty of people wanted a creator first. No one wanted a PG who couldn't shoot though. But a Lawson class was fine. And I mean that as in the Lawson we thought we were getting...the Lawson class that ppl also talked about wanting. The thirst for the real Lawson was still highly prevalent on CFnet. Weird you don't recall those ppl. Same ppl said a SG who could create would suffice too

So, in the realm of possibilities of players available without weakening another position ... Lou Williams was definitely in the random trade idea conversations. And when the trade went down, Lou for a 1st, go back and read that thread about ppl who said they wanted another creator.

Since we had EGo....I wanted another wing defender...like we got in Luc or PJ Tucker. But nobody wanted Rubio. That's where you are confusing the guard creator crowd with the Rubio crowd.

Random thought, what if we use Cleveland to get our three way done. If ariza has to be included, we send him to Cleveland. Lessens the blow for Ariza to go play with Lebron for a year, likely make it to the finals in the east.
