wow, what a wasted game by the bulls,i can not believe they lost it......the basketball god might be just against us.....
Dunno if this has been brought up at all. But after looking at a conservative projection of the rest of the year, it looks like it really won't matter more than 1 or 2 spots if NYK makes the playoffs. I was really rooting for them to miss and for a few Western non-playoff teams to have a better record than them so that pick would jump from 15ish to 10. But, the mediocrity of DAL, UTAH, PHX, POR probably keeps that pick from going up more than a spot or two. I guess we just really need to hope they don't make the finals!
Does it matter if they make the finals? Is the order based on how they finish in the playoffs or strictly on win/loss at end of regular season
Sadly tommorow's Knicks vs Bucks game might be the biggest game of the season for us. Knicks win we probably get the 15th pick, Bucks win, we likely get the 12th.
Biggest game not involving the Rockets. Let's not get carried away. But yes, it's the biggest KNICKS game of the year. If the Bucks win, they pull even with New York AND win the season series, getting the playoff tie-breaker. I'm pumped for that game. I'm going to the Rockets game tomorrow night, but I'd be watching that game (or at least flipping to it during timeouts in the Rockets game) if not for that.
There's no way the Knicks won't win....Carmelo Anthony is a beast. And Jennings just challenged the Knicks...the last time that happened, the Knicks just came out and raped. Novak's been in a slump and he's due for a hot (regular) night. But one can hope.
I personally feel like one guy with really high upside will fall to 12. T. Jones, P. Jones, or Lamb. After 13/14 though, seems to fall off fairly significantly.
That was an odd question. As though 3 draft spots isnt significant. This isnt like the NFL or baseball. Though he kinda has a point when you actually look at #12 thru 14 picks in the last few drafts. Have to go way back to Kris Humphries and Nick Collison in '04 and back to find some good players. Otherwise its the same Patrick Patterson types, or Thaddeus Young, Ronnie Brewer, Thabo Sefalosha then WAY worse Still better to be in position for if a prospect DROPS
This draft supposedly have a ton of "high upside" players. A lot more than just the big names casual fans know about. So you can't just flat out say that a player can't drop beyond 12 when surely teams will have different rankings for different players. Just last draft, two supposed surefire top-10 picks went 14th(Marcus Morris) and 15(Kahwi Leonard). But probably the more important point is that moving up from 15th to 12th is not difficult. Probably at the cost of a player or an extra 1st round pick from the future(perhaps the Mavs pick). If Morey truly sees superstar potential from someone, having the 15th pick isn't going to prevent him from pulling the trigger.
