    I agree. I'll try to shutup about stupid stuff and stick to basketball. Back to this thread who thinks the Knicks still have a shot at missing the playoffs. They are playing pretty damn good right now under Woodson. And Milwaukee made a run at them and came up short. I don't see them catching up even with a tough schedule ahead for the Knicks. They do have one more game against each other and if the Bucks win that gives them the tie breaker. Still they are longshot IMO.

    I think there is a better likelihood of this pick dropping down to 20th or lower (Knicks currently 2.5 games behind Memphis, Philly and Boston) than the Knicks being in the lottery (Knicks 2.5 games ahead of Milwaukee). I guess the one thing that would cause the Knicks to fall would be even more serious injuries to important guys like Melo or Chandler .

    I don't know.....Anything could happen as this has been a Season On The Brink for NY. Whether they make it or not, this should be a cautionary tale about putting teams together on the fly(and making deals with DM).... chemistry, depth, health, etc. Besides, these kind of power plays are bad for the League IMO.

    Anyway, to put the last 15 games into perspective....I think we need to look at the season as a whole. 66 games/compressed schedule.
    The Knicks came out fine and then proceeded to show their true colors...Linsanity came along and pulled them up (frankly we needed it at that point or we could very well be kissing this pick goodbye this year)...Again, they hit the skids and fire Pringles. Melo takes over and they get the dead cat bounce with the offense moving through him....At the same time though, bye bye Amare (penalty on NY for rolling the dice on him, that schedule sure didn't help )...and Lin is having knee problems. Also, Baron Davis is a shadow of his former self .....I just can't see the Knicks keeping up this torrid pace.
    In fact, the way I see it (through my Rocket colored glasses), this is where the bow breaks......No more than 6 or 7 wins the rest of the way for these guys. The schedule REALLY is tough and the Knicks REALLY aren't as good as they appear to be.

    I'm shorting them...NOW.

    I hope you're right. But beating Orlando without Lin and Amare is pretty impressive. I honestly think Melo was slacking with D'antoni. Maybe not intentionally but certainly he wasn't playing defense as hard. And now more than anything he seems to be playing team basketball far better. It's funny that's all D'antoni wanted him to do before. Anyway Melo is a positive now and was a negative before. That's the biggest difference. If they get Melo with Lin Amare and chandler all working together it's hard to believe they won't win more than 6 or 7. But still I hope and watch the scoreboard.

    Yeah heres to hoping for a huge collapse from them. I was so disappointed to see them laying the wood to Orlando.

    Yeah, it is.(by itself, not a pleasant harbinger) And I'm with you on Melo dogging it/out of the flow under D'Antoni......He's obviously key for them and when right is a force like not many in the NBA....just don't think they have enough to pull it off......We'll see.

    Well they get the Cavs tomorrow, and it looks like Irving hurt himself tonight (unsure how serious). If they aren't at least tied with Mil by the time they play again I give up, because the games before them are Cavs, @Ind, @Orl (who should want some payback), Chi and @Chi.

    This month Mike Dunleavy is avg 15.6ppg on FG 56.9%, 3P 52.5%. Hopefully he continues to do this for the Bucks rest of the way.

    Thanks for posting this, but why does everyone seem to care if we get a lottery pick from NY? Is one spot higher really that big of a difference? When was the last time a team won the lottery with a pick projected to be in the teens?

    Not just one spot higher. If Suns, Wolves and Blazers do well, they may have a better record than the Knicks. That's 3 spots, plus the 9th team in the West will also be better than NY, so that's 4 spots.

    But that only makes a difference if the Knicks don't make the playoffs.

    Easy explained it very well. As of today, the Bucks would draft at 10 and the Knicks at 15.

    Now that NY's caught up to Portland, Phoenix, and Minnesota missing the playoffs only makes a difference of a couple of spots. But a few weeks ago, missing the playoffs for them would have given us a #9 pick.

    every spot counts. How many times over the years did we miss out because someone drafted one spot ahead of us.

    Hard to see the Knicks losing tonight to an Irving-less Cavs team... without Irving they're a Bobcat-level disgrace.

    But, they have an insane run coming up:
    @Indiana
    @Orlando
    Chicago
    @Chicago
    @Milwaukee
    Washington
    Miami
    Boston
    @New Jersey
    @Cleveland
    @Atlanta
    LA Clippers
    @Charlotte

    Could easily see 2-11 or 3-10 to close out the season.

    Milwaukee has it quite a bit easier:

    @Washington
    Cleveland
    Charlotte
    Portland
    Oklahoma City
    New York
    @Detroit
    Indiana
    @Washington
    @Indiana
    New Jersey
    Toronto
    Philadelphia
    @Boston

    Milwaukee could go 8-5 or 9-4 in those games (they are probably favored in 8-9 of those games). That would be enough to knock New York out.

    Don't give up hope on that lottery pick guys, this isn't even close to over :)
