The Knicks announcers said they worked out Lin before the draft and some of his athletic splits or drills were off the charts regarding quickness. DD
Matt Bouldin was a finalist for the cousy award in 2010 and went undrafted and isn't even in the league
Lin made the final 11 list in 2010. Matt Bouldin, Devan Downey, Kalin Lucas, Scottie Reynolds, and Jon Scheyer were all on that same list in 2010 with Lin and not a one of them got drafted. So you might not want to throw that one out there as evidence of all the Lin hate.
HowardBeckNYT Howard Beck [rQUOTEr]Knicks say Carmelo will be out for 1-2 weeks because of strained right groin. No other tests scheduled.[/rQUOTEr]
The schedule for the next 2 weeks, assuming it's that long, is: 2/8 - at Was 2/10 - LA 2/11 - at Sota 2/14 - at Raptors 2/15 - Kings 2/17 - NO 2/19 - Dallas 2/20 - NJ 2/22 - ATL 2/23 - at Mia (longer than 2 weeks though)
I have complete confidence the bottom feeders in the East will unintentionally provide the required cushion
As a DC resident, i can assure you that they will find a way to screw it up. The wiz are in full tank-mode right now. Word is that the GM has told the coach to play the younger players (which is why Jan Vesely, a guy who's actually a detrement to his team at this point) is starting.
It is on the ESPN news too. Do not know if this is good or bad news for the rockets, but I do not think Lin can play that well (Jazz game) for every game after people figure him out. Knicks may miss the playoff this year. "New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony will be sidelined 1-2 weeks after suffering a strained right groin in the first quarter of Monday's 99-88 win against the Utah Jazz."
Lin's caught the league off-guard. Life gets a LOT harder when opposing guards start having film to study and teams know to respect you. With Carmelo out, Lin's going to have a rougher road. ...But good for him - I'm rooting for this guy. So long as he stops helping the Knicks in the win column.
This is the kind of schedule that screams .500 ball no matter who's on the court. Some of those teams they would have to miss the flight to lose to. Other teams are just going to run them off the floor no matter what they do. I'm not worried about this whole Lin/Melo out fad, it will fade away soon, Melo will come back full strength and be the #1 liability for his team all over again.
Today a Knicks fan asked me if NY could win the championship now that Lin is on the team. LOL- they're hailing this guy as a demigod over here.
per Hollinger's chat today: JCNY (NY) Do you buy into this idea that Melo's injury could be a "blessing in disguise"? John Hollinger Only if you're the Rockets and are hoping to get the No. 6 overall pick (its top-5 protected). Carmelo may be a bit overrated, but he's still massively better than anyone else on the Knicks except Chandler. definitely got a nice chuckle and smile outta that
Yes I stand corrected. But my point still stands that Lin's race played a part to his underrecruitment.
