never thought of it that way, but makes sense. Rubio doesn't want to play in Minny, these picks + a young player or two would be a good deal for Rubio.

Get both of Curry and Jeffries contracts with Gallinari, Hill and one 1st round pick.

With Yao, Curry, Jeffries, Shane all expring next year we'll have hell of a capspace with a very good young team. Brooks, Lowry, Ariza, Gallinari, Hill, Scola, Landry, Chase, Taylor, Hayes and picks.

what i don't understand in these trades is.. Morey is ok with getting Jared Jefferies and not willing to take back Salmons.... Salmons is owed 5.5 this year and 5.8 next year as opposed to Jefferies' this year 6.5 and 6.9 the next. Salmons is also a player the Rockets could definitely use he's not bad from the 3pt line.
I'm guessing taking on Jared Jefferies nets them picks and that is what Morey may be aiming for.

Or this could only mean one thing Trevor Ariza is there bff.

If you take back Curry AND Jeffries in a trade, say bye bye to Lowry and Scola. No way in hell Morey takes Curry, and no GM would take both under any circumstances.

What I don't get is why he would want Hughes over Harrington when it sounds like he can have his choice? I'd take Harrington in a heartbeat. Who cares about throwing in Dorsey and or Cook...

let the knicks keep harrington. draft blocking the jazz is more important.

This is the same issue that has me perplexed. Why not go after Salmons and the immediate help instead of hoping NY doesnt sign any big names and drop into lottery so that we have good draft picks.

    We must have Hill.

I kind of doubt what I am reading on this. I can't see DM doing the deal without Hill (unless they throw in something just as good), and I don't see NY backing out, unless they can trade Jefferies for somebody else's expiring.

I think that's a theory of some debate at the moment. At least according to Hollinger, when are player's minutes expand to up to about 30-35 mpg, their efficiency are generally not noticeably affected. In fact, players tend to do a little better with an expanded role and more consistent playing time.

In other words, the average NBA player are/should be atheletic enough to play at least 30 minutes with maximum effort without feeling too winded to perform.

-- Of course, Hollinger's position is still debated by other statisticians. But I personally think while per-minute based stats should be taken with a grain of salf, especially for a player with limited minutes, it still is a good indicator of his potentials.

further more, I was making the point that "rumours and statistics seem to indicate that Hill is a Morey type player" instead of the contrary, and I stand corrected until someone can post some evidence to show that Hill fails at some important statistical measures. :)

i'm hoping morey pulls something out of left field because if we trade away dorsey and don't get hill then the rockets are looking very far into the future.

I am sorry but what I get from this is actually a deal with the Knicks is way closer than a deal with the Bulls. Getting a third team involved is not as easy as it sounds so my guess is NY it is.... :(

By the way, what are the chances of a 3-way with Knicks and Bulls ?

I want the draft pick, not curry or jeffries. If we could get to swap 2011 1st rd pick and the 2012 pick outright, i think thats worth alot especially sice ny might strike out and suck bigtime. I imagine 2 high lotto picks in 2011 and 2012.

man, if more is pushing the issue and no deal occurs, it's going to suck. those deals are great deals for tmac, even if the 2012 pick is protected.

I know we had deke most recently as a backup C but would anyone else consider Moreys inability to find us a reliable BIG somehow before we lost Yao and deke pretty much a huge failure on his part? We give him all this praise but damn, we end up with david andersen. Am I beating a dead horse? That's one thing I hold against him, as we all should and probably do. I guess that was his biggest failure in his short tenure. Meh...discuss. lol

The problem is that every decent 7 footer around that can rebound and block shots is 99% a lot overpaid... We need one of those kind of player desperately, maybe we can get someone in the draft, it seems like there are a couple of good tall guys out there according to draftexpress! I don't think Morey is a fool, he knows we need that type of player too, it's just hard to find for a reasonable price... I don't want to even think about the possibility of overpaying a bigman ending up in an Erick Dampier situation!

this is just negotiating 101. you take their main objective, and make it the last thing you want.
