I'm guessing the Rockets would no longer want Dampier if they were getting Nene (a much better version of Dampier).
lol yeah like billups is going to want to spend his last couple of years there while they blow it up. they won't have to put him on the market, he'll ask to be traded. oh and hell yes to taking nene from them if we don't get in on this melo trade.
Like I said, Nene is a necessity for us, while someone like Melo is a luxury. He gives us that legit dude who rebounds, blocks shots, and is like the Kevin Martin of centers. He would instantly become our best backup center in the Yao era! God that's such a terrible mix. All it's showing is Nene's ability to catch the ball and dunk OVER and OVER again. Pretty boring
reasons why nene fits: 1) as someone mentioned, nene=the bigman version of kevmart in terms of statistical efficiency 2) between him and yao, we might get 82 games + playoffs. i have no qualms about nene getting 11mil and maybe signing yao to 14 mil or so extension. 3) our international front line of Yao, Scola, Nene would be the best frontcourt in all the league. their different styles complement each other very well.
I agree i would like Nene or Randolph might as well move the picks if Melo is thinking NY, they'll be useless.

so long story short rockets are trying to save money,only mega stars will be added because of the tax (and iggy isnt a mega star) caa wants lebron to win,not face a knick juggernaut. so melo will probably end up on a bad team because melo needs extension now,because new cba will cost him millions next summer if he doesnt either brad or yao must really suck in practice for them wanting dampier..doesnt matter how you spin it,thats the truth. melo isnt coming here ,either lala will divorce him or caa isnt allowing it..he would win,denver would love our assets,but the deal hasnt happened. if melo chooses philly over houston, then we all need to gather up and visit carmelo at the airport and ask him what he is smoking because it must be good shiet.
