If the Sixers only want cap relief then don't be surprised if you see a new 4-team trade being discussed... I don't wanna go into details but basically, here's the deal... Rockets - Igoudala Knicks - Melo Sixers - Cap relief and future 1st rd pick Nuggets - Cap relief, young cheap talent (maybe J. Hill or some other players) and future 1st round picks Everyone is happy. Ya?
Would be great to get Iggy. He's not as good as Melo but I think he would fit with the team better. And I would rather have Iggy, Brooks, and Martin than Melo and only one of the above two.
I can see this happening. Denver gets a better package than what NY is offering and is able to send him wherever they want as a little jab before the kick him out.
If the Sixers want young talent to come with cap relief and a future pick then here's the deal... Denver-Knicks-Sixers-Rockets-deal
That would be great for us if we could add Iggy without losing any of our starters besides battier. Brooks/Lowry Martin/Lee Iggy/Bud Scola/Hayes/Patterson Yao/Miller
Better than a one year rental with Melo. They get Anthony Randolph, cap relief in Curry, and a future 1st round pick.
Creative trade idea. But I think the Nuggets actually really like Iguodala. If Philly is willing to make that trade (extension or not), then I think Denver just keeps Iguodala (and maybe some picks, if Carmelo agrees to sign an extension with Philly) and calls it a day.
http://twitter.com/WojYahooNBA/status/25616083126 Woj says Nuggets looking to dump more salary in a NJ trade scenario, and is putting everyone on the market except for Lawson and Billups. This brings me back to my Nene obsession. Lets offer Denver Hill, Jeffries, a draft pick and use the TPE to eat Balkman to get Nene. This will help Denver cut salary and tax by roughly $3.5 million each (totaling $7 mil), give them a younger Hill and a draft pick. Adding Nene's efficient scoring around the basket, bulk and quickness to the Houston front line would just be nut!
I would GLADLY do that deal (subject to Nene passing a physical). Dude is a rare combination of athleticism, strength and quickness.
you forgot to mention ...and injury riddled. hell, i would bet if you good image searched him, he'd already be in a rocket uniform.
Would you give more than that? Like giving Patterson instead of Hill or eating Birdman instead of Balkman? I would.
Now that may be pushing it. (You know my thoughts on Patterson's perceived value vs. Hill's.) Balkman makes only a little over the league minimum for three years, so it's not too difficult to eat salary that you'd otherwise spend on end-of-bench roster filler anyway. Birdman makes REAL money for four more years. I'd prefer not to have to eat that salary unless a superstar is coming over. Nene is no superstar. Hell of a good player, though.
Actually, in your proposed trade, the Rockets could hold onto their TPEs (both the full Ariza one and the full Landry one) and instead just throw Alexander Johnson's non-guaranteed deal into the trade. Better allocation of resources.
i agree that birdman might make a nene deal not worth it. i would go as far as offering patterson instead of hill, though. i'm pretty high on nene. he's a very underrated player, and i think he could help us matchup against the lakers front line. i'd take yao-nene-scola, over bynum-gasol-odom.
