Well, it does make a division rival better, so don't celebrate yet. But I guess I would like it in the form of a lower pick. I had thought that Chandler would be their SG, so who would it be then?
There's a link on spurstalk go check it out supposdly a 1st round for wilson chandler but more playees and salary may be included to keep spurs under luxuary tax but this move for spurs would defintley make them the 2nd best team in the conference and would cover all there weaknessses
seriously? wilson chandler makes them the 2nd best team? just stop and think about that for a second.
Spurs could beat anybody now besides the Lakers in the West (Suns were just a bad-matchup) in a 7 game series I rank the Spurs about 3 right now in the conference without this move, I still think Dallas may be better but won't do **** in the playoffs. Chandler would be the perfect backup becuase all Spurs really need right now to compete with LA is a solid athletic perimeter defender they have the size now with Splitter. Splitter/Mcdyess Duncan/Blair Jefferson/Chandler Ginobili/Anderson Parker/Hill we stacked and way better than last years team in which unless injures happen that the Spurs can't do as bad as last year.
Looks like the Knicks are tying to raise his value to become more appealing for teams in need of another center such as the Rockets. These mind games don't work on The Wizard.
(Speaking in general here, not specifically about the Rockets pick(s).) Chris Sheridan says it would likely be Douglas or Chandler for a first round pick that would go back to NY, which would then help facilitate a trade for Carmelo, though they are also ok sitting on something like that and waiting for 'Melo in FA.
I have read many reports that Gallo's back is not going to hold up for him to have a long career. To give up a first rounder for a player with only one NBA level skill - the 3pter(unless you consider height a skill) and a bad back is a bit much especially considering that so many 3pt specialists over the years have been picked out of the woodpile out back for next to nothing(Kapono and Damon Jones come to mind). I have a hard time thinking SA would land Chandler for a 1st rounder considering SA's first rounder probably will be within a few picks of the 1st rounder the Knicks already have in a switch with Houston's picks. I can't image the Knicks saying, "oh you have San Antonio rather than Houston's first round pick in 2011? In that case, here is Melo". There has to be something else to that and looking at the Knick's and SA rosters I don't see anything the Spurs would want outside of Chandler and nothing they would want to dump unless it's a guy like Jefferson but they can't do that until mid December.
