Imo, their play-styles are similar, but Chase has the higher ceiling with his athleticism, BBIQ, and willingness to learn. However, as of right now, Gallo's the better player.
WojYahooNBA Nets are backing off pursuit of a deal for Carmelo Anthony, league source says. "At least for now," source tells Y!
Anthony Randolph would be a much better addition than Gallo anyway. Randolph is a two way player and capable of playing three different positions. Gallo is and can not.
Interesting if Rockets are involved (what assets do we see in return). Interesting if Rockets not involved (value of draft picks). Hmmm.
Why would the Rockets help the Knicks get Carmelo Anthony? It makes no sense. We want the Knicks to be horrible so the picks have more value, I think this is crap the Knicks are putting out there on purpose to entice the Nuggets to make a trade with NY.
If we are trading them back their pick, who gives a damn how good or bad they are if we're getting a good player out of it?
I just wanna get things straight, did Carmelo ever really demand a trade?? He just didn't wanna sign an extension which to me isn't the same thing. Seems more like it's the Nuggets who are the one demanding a trade, so that they don't get LeBron-ed.
I think that's been pretty well covered in this thread. The idea was that if we weren't getting Carmelo, maybe Morey could get a premium on the value of the 2012 pick by returning it to the (once again) desperate Knicks.
I know i don't! Anyway, this is what i think is going on. Four days ago when news of the big 4 team trade was floating around, the Nuggets found out that NY had contacted Houston for picks to use in the Melo deal. So for the past 4 days they have been sitting back and waiting for the old trade news to die down completely before the srike up a new 3 team dal between Hou, NY and themselves.
Yes he did. Melo had to tell God and everyone on media day that he didn't request the trade. If he didn't, he would of been fine. This is where I have problems with David Stern. Players can't out right say they want to be traded. If they do, Stern will fine them heavly. We saw what happened with Stephen Jackson last year. A lot of what we see in the paper about players wanting to be traded are generated through their agents, teams that want to trade for a certain player, GM's and the original team. Stern is a control-freak and it's really starting to show.
Thats the way i pretty much see it. The pick will be about useless if Morey's not involved in the Melo to NY negotiations and hopefully he'll play Jedi mind tricks with Walsh.
Knicks already have a 2011 pick.. We just have the rights to swap... But regardless they still have one rather it's lower or higher. So they're working on acquiring another one? Why wouldn't the knicks just trade their 2011 they already have... And try to get a 2012 pick
It doesn't make a difference to New York. As long as the Knicks are left with at least one first round pick in EITHER 2011 or 2012, after trading whatever other pick(s) to another team, they're fine.
Incorrect. Once the 2010 NBA Draft came and went, that pick became irrelevant to the Knicks' ability to trade future first round picks. It is the absence of a 2012 pick (owed to the Rockets) that is causing them problems.
