Not to make this a D&D thread, but this statement is idiotic in just about every word and phrase. Philly and NYC are not the two most dangerous cities. In the latest crime rate rankings, Philly is #21 and NYC is #256. http://os.cqpress.com/citycrime/2009/CityCrime2009_Rank_Rev.pdf Neither city comes close to banning handguns entirely. Philly: NYC: And what, pray tell, is marital law? Are you suggesting there's something wrong with marriage? I hope so, because if you think those cities have martial law, that is a much crazier and insane statement than being against this marital law of which you speak. Quit reading Guns and Ammo and spend more time watching NBATV. The world and this board will be better for it. Anyway, I like Iggy OK.
I just think in Denver's case, it's not so much as getting players early in the draft, as oppose to just getting additional picks and players.
I want to rape NY so bad. Send them 2012 first round pick, 2011 pick swap, Jeffries, and Jordan Hill and in return get back AR AND Gallo, PLUS 2 future first round picks LOL. Send Kevin Martin and Chase Buddinger to Denver for Billups and Birdman. Denver will end up getting Kevin Martin, Chase Buddinger, 2 first round picks, and the expiring contract of Jeffries plus Jordan Hill via NY. I'm not sure the salaries work but I am sure that this will never happen lol.
So is there an official, or close to official, word in Denver in regards to billups? Do they still thinks he's got a lot of game left or is it more about keeping a local sports hero in town? Or both?
They gotta sell some tickets after all. They will remove photos of Melo from tickets, posters, and promotional items and replace them with Billups and make him the face of the franchise.
Not sure if you saw the word from Wojnarowski of Y! Sports but he says everyone in Denver is "in play" except for Billups and Lawson
Well although all the chatter has died down, the one thing that we still have working in our favor is Melo himself. He really wants to go to NY. I'm starting to think this is whats holding everything else up. Melo to Philly? Don't think so. The 4 team deal that was being reported over the weekend, is all but non-existent at the moment. I actually think Morey could make a Randolph deal happen. Earlier i had hoped that we would get Randolph and still be able to swing another trade for Iggy, but after what has been going on today, i doubt Philly would want anything less than a star back after loosing out on Melo.
Nah, I think ending up with AR, Gallo, Billups, Birdman, and 2 future firsts for Kevin Martin, Buddinger, Jeffries, Jordan Hill, NY picks is a raping, but that is just me.
yeah that was my reason for asking..i can understand lawson, being a young pg talent, but i wasnt sure if Billups was really in their long term plans or they just felt an obligation to keep them hometown guy...or both. and by long term i mean the next 3-4 yrs or so...it just doesnt paint a clear picture as to what their next move will be...are they blowing things up to rebuild slowly or trying to rebuild overnight through trades throughout this year? The billups/lawson combo point to both of those roads..
Anyone else reminded of this guy? <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/k0CgwJZQdUk?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/k0CgwJZQdUk?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Honestly, I don't think Nuggets FO have any clue about what to do. You have a new owner and new GM, both relatively new to the game, assigned the task of trading their franchise player. Do they want to win now and trade for a guy like Martin or look to the future for a guy like Favors? Alls I know is, I wouldn't want to be in Ujiri's shoes right now.
That would mean (TMac) + Landry for Martin + Randolph + Chandler + option to swap 2011 1st round pick with Knicks. If we remove TMac from the equation, given Knicks + 28 teams around the league didn't even offer him a minimum contract ... it would mean Landry -> Martin + Randolph + Chandler + 2011 Knicks 1st round swap !!! A longshot, but wouldn't it be nice
