You say that now but you know that you and everyone in this forum would go crazy if melo waives his NTC to go to OKC or some other team.
Oh I think it's BS too for 2 main reasons. 1. Who waives a NTC to get shipped to Oklahoma? Was Siberia busy? 2. Who waives a NTC to get stuck on a team with Westbrick, arguably the most selfish basketball player in NBA history? I get why the Knicks would put this kind of thing out there, and why the Thunder would want people to think that they were a valid landing spot but I just don't buy it.
I don't doubt that Simmons heard that. We are quick to dismiss legitimate sources that have bad news and embrace Trey Rodgriguezes when they have good news. Until Melo says he will waive his NTC to OKC I have my doubts, but they quickly become a threat if he does. Adams has more value than posters in this thread think.
But who cares, you think Melo wants to face Houston? Dude, Rockets are freaking top 3 with or withou Melo... Have some pride man.... Don't w**** yourself for just anyone....
1) Some of you fools still think you're smarter at this than Morey. LMAO 2) "He's going to lose everything". Once again...LMAO
Geez - Melo isn't the end-all-be-all for this team. We will improve slightly IF we get him while only having to give up Anderson. Any other scenario will be pretty much a wash compared to what we have today. Relax guys, regardless of whether it happens or not we're still in that mix. If OKC got him, we'd still likely be a better team top to bottom. Not that serious.
Exactly. Selfish guard play v unselfish. Houston v OKC as cities.. yeah. State income tax in OKC? Willing to waive trade kicker? No chance
I mean the Knicks playing tricks through the media just seems a futile effort to artificially create a nonexistent market. The Knicks have to realize that, tampering or not, the Carmelo camp and the player is in constant communication with the Rockets in one way or another. As long as Carmelo reiterates his commitment to only waive his NTC for Houston, and the Houston brass knows this, then all else is nought.
Yup!! I mean the way I see it is if he comes great... If he doesn't it's going to be fun beating the crap out of him.... Which will happen unless he goes to GS...
He does, but that's a non-starter because flipping Steven Adams for Carmelo Anthony makes OKC a worse basketball team. Same as if the Rockets traded Capela for him. Neither is going to happen. Flipping Adams for Carmelo means Enes Kanter is the only center, with Carmelo Anthony at PF. Good luck defending Golden State/Houston with that. The threat is Kanter having one less year on his contract than Anderson, and it could be a factor. That said, it's still nowhere near optimal for NYK or any other team, so if Carmelo is going to play the long-term leverage game... might as well stick with his original preference. If Carmelo ultimately expands his list, which I doubt he does, the scenario would be for a situation where there's an immediate ticket out of New York, IMO.
I disagree. I expect a major improvement if we get him especially come playoff time. You heard Morey say this is an arms race so I bet he disagrees too.
Melo in OKC with George, Westbrook, Patterson, Adams, far better 3 point shooting and spacing is just as good if not better than rockets with melo. And what is this about pride and w**** myself out? Don't see what that has to do with anything? I like melo, he'd make an excellent third option, not exactly whoring myself out how others are with Capela who is just a role player.
