It's going to be very interesting to see how the Knicks play when Melo and JR are in the line up. I honestly think there's just too many players that need the ball in there hands to be effective. Though, if they have good chemistry and Lin runs the offense, they could be very good.

According to Postingandtoasting.com the Knicks SBnation blog, this is far from being "close to signing" as the only person who's reported this is isola.

I really hope they dont sign Jr Smith, it would take a lot of joy out of watching the Knicks.

Jr is an idiet, he has shumpert and fields competing for minutes directly with him and they will still be just a normal good team, albeit exciting with a great city. If he was smart, he would've gone to LA with great weather/market, but more importantly they are screaming for a starting SG where he could get all the minutes, play off an amazing pass first pg Veteran and have a championship contending possibilities as he would close the whole for an almost fully rounded, perfet lineup(Paul, JR, Butler, Griffin, Jordan)

Money talks. And arguably championship potential as well. Not to mention he's probably friends with Melo, and CP3 to Jeremy Lin is not much of a drop-off in the pick n roll.

Totally agree. JR would have made more money in the off-season as a starter padding his stats with Chris Paul rather than as a bench player.

if the knick offense clicks with all this talent they are contenders. if they can remain unselfish they should absolutely start crushing teams.

JR smith in a dantoni offense ? i cant see any reason why he wouldnt play well now that they have a good PG starting, and baron davis returning soon to come off the bench.

No. not really. Chicago and Miami are on another tier regardless of how good NY can be. Both Chicago and Miami can both beat them in a 7 game series, regardless of if they improve on the blue collar work. They're both deeper and more talented all around. Both are better defensive teams, both have more experience. NY may give them trouble with all of what you've described... but 9/10 an upset isn't likely when both of those teams are better.

Right now they have Lin running the ball and team.

Dude is talking to god all the time... how can they **** block god and then say it's Lin's fault..

Lin is running the game and winning without then,,, dare they screw up god and Lin??

They can't... Lin and god win... what can I say

Would love for the Knicks to sign this guy to balance the Lin effect. Let get his numbers so the Lin fans can rejoice while they rack up the L's and the Rockets get their lottery pick.

Just heard that wilson chandler is coming back next week... I think the rockets should target him like hes their next superstar. Not saying he is but we could give the nuggets martin and our draft pick this year or Morris for him. I think itd be worth it. (do S n T)

That would leave them with Lawson,Martin,Gallanari, harrington and NENE....with affalo coming off the bench. That is a sick team and chandler is almost a redundancy at this point.

We would have an amazing 2 way D and O back court...with Lowry, Lee, and chandler.

The Knicks offensive style gives Chicago defensive fits. Last year they were 2-1 against the Bulls.

If I was Chicago I'd be much happier facing Boston in a series than the Knicks.

Miami on the other hand is just on another planet.

If he was looking for playing a big, starting role in a championship team he would've gone to the Clippers...
That said, in NY he can play his style more(Shoot first think later), but he will have to split minutes with Landry fields who is a better utility guy than him. He also gets to go home(well close, he is from NJ). So the incentive is there, but if he did well in the clippers, won, and started, he could've looked at a much higher regard/raise for his Free agency.

I think JR smith is just wrapped up in the whole NY media craze right now. He wants in on the action.

I agree the clippers are his best bet. People who think that JR smith to the knicks allows them to beat the heat. Are you serious?

I want to remind you only Chandler plays defense on that team. Jeffries is the 3rd leading scorer right now. Stoudemire is not himself even with Lin in the past two games.

Who will stop Lebron and Wade who are clicking?
Lin may be fast, but Chalmers is a defensive PG and Norris Cole is even faster than Lin and can light it up.
Not to mention Shane Battier coming off the bench to give Melo Trouble.

Only team that can beat the Heat is the Bulls with Rose and the Pacers

I will even add $20 to the bet jar if the knicks beat the heat as long as whoever takes me up on the bet does same if the Bulls/Pacers do
