the Knicks’ new management isn’t as dumb as previous regimes, and they are not giving up their cap space to add Brandon Knight there’s no reason why the Knicks should be all over a trade like this...it does not benefit them in any way
Knicks have a good chance to sign a star in July 1. The star is a better player than Knight. This is the most important thing. If Knight were traded for another bad contract, Morey could not make a good bid on Gordon's next contract. If someone offers Gordon 23 million a year (such as JJ Redick), he is gone for nothing.
You casuals are desperate for anyone. Kanter is a terrible defender. We need a great rim protector as our backup center. A Daedmon would be more like it.

Only if we can give them Chris and Melo and some filler. Kanter is good but defensively not so much. But what we need is someone who can score on pick and roll. Idk how athletic Kanter still is. But anyone would be welcome that can jump or give some freaking space for Harden
But for a trade salaries have to work. Problem is oquinn only gets paid like $3.5 million. Brandon Knight gets like 15. This trade is more about getting rid of Knight for an expiring than getting the best fit for our team. I mean I would love to have Durant and Lebron. Kanter would be a useful expiring contract than having to pay BK for another year
Harden and kanter would be pretty amazing on pick and roll. It wouldn’t be lobs like Capela all day but kanter is pretty good on pick and roll and an elite rebounder. His defense is garbage but we should be able to hide it for the 10-15 minutes a game he would play

If Knight hadn’t played at all for rockets his value may have been just slightly higher. Guy is shooting like 20% from the field and like 15% from 3. He has only hurt his already negative trade value

And it helps us get rid of Knight. And kanter helps with rebounding which we are like the worst defensive rebounding team
