Kinda gave it a second thought about Francis on this team, and I would've accepted his scoring punch and ballhandling off the bench. Though his decision making is not something to be desired, compared to Head, he's Magic Johnson in that department. Still wouldn't have him starting ahead of Rafer. The chemistry is just right and improving as far as I'm concerned. But with this news it's official that we are the team most affected by injuries this year. Even the Knicks injuries had an effect on us.
WOW!! Steve-O just dropped 26 and 7, including the game winning, buzzer beating 3 ball on the Wizards. Respect!! Im happy for the guy.
Typical Francis, a lot of heart, not enough brain. 7 TOs, a late lane violation to lose a critical offensive rebound, then a missed FT that could have tied the game. But a heroic buzzer beating 3 to make up for all of those. Now the Knicks could be at 8th of the East if we beat the Magic tomorrow.
Francis could create his own shot and finish the play. He could be a valuable spark off the bench....
I wish we could have picked him up. Hopefully, he will start sucking again soon, so that he will get bought out during the offseason.
No Francis was overstating his injury I think in order to force the Knicks into buying him out. The timing of his injury/retirement statement came one day after the trade deadline. Now Jamal Crawford is out and wow look. Miracles of Miracles. Stevie-O can score again. He's averaged 26 pts a game for the last three games. He just wants to start and be the superstar on any team. Does he have tendinitis in his knee? Maybe. Can it be fixed? Maybe (John Patterson?) Can he regain his leaping ability to dunk and play above the rim? Maybe but it's a long shot. Can he be a servicable point guard who averages 14 pts a game with 6 assists? Yes most definately if his tendinitis is repaired. That's exactly what we need for the Rockets. Just distribute the ball and take the occasional three pointer. Drive the lane and dish off. That being said, now that Stevie is playing at a high level again driving the Knicks toward a playoff spot, it doesn't bode well for a buyout of his contract.
