I'm a Mac guy too, which is the best protection from viruses, but I understand why people gravitate towards PCs (cost, options, etc).

So, there you are... stuck with Windows... but it doesn't end there folks. In fact, these nasty viruses have more to do with Microsoft's other products than they do with Windows. People... there are alternatives to IE, Outlook, Word and Excel (these last two are targets of macro viruses). I don't understand why everyone gets in bed with Microsoft so readily. I work for companies that refuse to use/support anything but Microsoft products. It's crazy!

I know the first release of Netscape 6 left a bad taste in people's mouths and they already had a reputation of not following standards with their older browsers but... Netscape 6.2 is actually a damn fine browser. I'm using it now on a PC and love it. There are email programs other than Outlook too. These Microsoft programs seem to be the real problem when it comes to viruses - not Windows. Part of the attractiveness of a PC is choice, right? Use it!

Am I missing something here? I am just a Mac guy, after all.

Of course, none of this has anything to do with stopping the most malicious virus of all -- the user who insists on opening random attachments.
