He is no longer the player he once was, bad defensively and isnt that consistent scoring wise anymore. Maybe this trade causes him to rejuvenate his career due to the disrespect ala Cp3, but other than that I think he's just an empty name now ala Shaq on Cavs.

I don't want to write Klay off just yet. I will have to see after this season. For some reason, I think he is going to pop off and be wild as a Maverick, which I don't want to happen, but I think it will.

I think he'll be injured a lot. But I'm not wishing for that. We'll see what happens. If he's even moderately healthy, he should get a ton of open looks if Luka & Kyrie will pass.

What made Klay dangerous before was his all around play in addition to being a deadly 3 pt shooter. He was being a lane menace and working with either Iggy or KD to dominate the lane defensively.

Maybe the old Klay can still pop off from 3, but he lost a lot of his agility and quickness due to injuries. I actually think Corey Kispert or Deni Avdija are much better than him currently.

Buddy Hield has been balling with that spacing though.

The real reason why San Francisco refused to let Klay stay...

Klay was clearly bad last year, so I don’t know why anyone saw this as a W for the Mavs. The only good thing is we can continue hating Klay, easily top 5 of most arrogant, self-absorbed, ego driven and self-entitled players I’ve seen in the last two decades.

Humility is one of the key traits of being a true champion.

Klay (and nearly everyone from GSW, including Curry) showed very little in terms of being humble. Just goes to show that they never should have been champions in the first place.

I really think Warriors should have kept Klay.

Buddy's a better, younger, cheaper player filling the same exact role.

For pure nostalgia and legacy sake, maybe they should have, but IIRC he had a "I want out" attitude towards the Warriors, was upset they didn't offer him the bag. Not sure he would have stayed regardless if Warriors were offering to match his contract, which in fairness isn't an awful one. The Warriors are in a very tough spot financially though so It's understandable given they have Buddy locked down.
