On the bright side golden state cannot afford Harrison Barnes anymore. Maybe we should do something about it. He would be great
What makes you say that? IMO he looked good his rookie year but failed to live up to it. He's crazy athletic but doesn't seem to use it on the court.
Klay is way better than Parsons. He's a great defender and he shoots over 40% from 3 on 6.5 attempts a game.
Harrison Barnes reminds me of a Marvin Williams that can shoot. He's not great at anything, especially impacting games.
I think the comparison was about Ariza since his name will be forever tied to Parsons - for better or worst. Remove Steph out of the lineup and let Klay run the team, is he worth 17M? That was the big ? with the beard when we first signed him to a max and he answered that with a big YES Top $$ means you have to be able to carry the team for victories and I have yet to see Klay, CP and Hayward do this consistently to merit that kind of paycheck.
Nobody thought Curry was going to the player he is. You really don't know until you have free reign. Until Curry goes down with an injury, we don't know how far Klay can take his game. He already has shown this year he can get to the line and get to the rim moreso than previous years. The improvement/growth in his game is what you want year to year when you sign a guy to that type of contract. He's a superb perimeter defender who also plays offense. You can only count on one hand who can do that in the NBA. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/3Yv6UzEjGaQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> How many players after a 40+ point game rather talk about letting his man go off offensively? If he keeps improving, he will deserve that contract.
Klay also has semblance of back to the basket game.. Which Parsons will never have. As klay gets older he will abuse guards from the high post
Looking at klay's game the last two years he shot the most 3's in the league. The league is on notice and have to respect his long range game. So this year he developed his game to attack - this makes him more valuable. In the last 2 games this year he has attacked the rim, if this continues he will be a better player than harden. He gets to fouls line, has a great 3pt shot, and he attacks and plays great defense, can play off the ball and shares the rock. He is underpaid now Because his contract doesn't kick until next year but after this year I don't think he is necessarily over paid either.
You can't compare Klay Thompson to Harden unless he can create for himself and others. Is he beating people off the dribble now?
You're still crazy. Where you got Corey Brewer? He must be top 5 since he had a 51 point game last season.
I still like Klay to get to the line more. But he's much improved compared to last year. What will make him a great scorer is if he can get to the line 7+ times a game. His shooting is truly elite.
Or you can't compare Harden to Klay b/c Klay defends the opposing best perimeter pretty much every play. They're pretty much different players with different roles.
If he continues getting to the line like he has so far then he is worth it. Great shooter, but you can't rely on that alone. Let's see if he keeps it up.
Not sure what you mean about not beating ppl off the dribble. http://w88.m.espn.go.com/b/ss/wdgwe...=[CS]v1|2A204A9705194E36-40000609000038DC[CE]
