I honestly would like somebody to explain how this guy does not get minutes over Brewer, and more importantly how Brewer got the deal he got.....
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">In this market, ~$8M per for Corey Brewer is actually pretty good value. (Also shows what an absolute STEAL Trevor Ariza was last summer.)</p>— David Weiner (@BimaThug) <a href="https://twitter.com/BimaThug/status/617093075899277312">July 3, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
That certainly isn't Corey Brewer's game. He came into to organization a crappy 3 point shooter, it would take longer than a season to become fluent. However his transition game used to be on point. This season it's questionable, but since that is his game I expect him to turn around. You can't slump an entire season.
As frustrating as the missed 3s AND layups are, it's the awful turnovers he's had the last few games that have me crying for him to get benched.
Fair question you ask and here is your answer: KJ has no outside game whatsoever......Brewer's game (especially at clutch moments) is wayyyyy above KJ's game and the coaching staff appropriately knows that. KJ will never be anything more than a highly athletic scrub/specialist because of his horrid shooting (outside of close to the basket). He just can't shoot period.....where Brewer can shoot, but has been struggling mightily with his shot this year. Brewer has never been a lights out shooter, but KJ lacks the skill of perimeter shooting and that (usually) can't be taught at the NBA level.
And that is why we should have forgotten about him this summer and signed Josh Smith. I don't care what the reports are, if we offered JSmoove a 1 year 3 million dollar contract I'd bet everything staying he would have stayed. And we'd probably have a couple more wins to this horrid start.
Considering how amazing Smith has been on the Clips if we had signed him you'd probably be saying we shouldnt have signed him and kept KJ Mcdaniels instead.
False. We came into the season knowing DMo was going to be unavailable for a while and Howard limited. We needed to have another big to rely on. Clint and Jones and a rookie was way too risky.
How does that make it false? Like I said JSmith has been playing badly on the Clips in limited minutes as a bench guy, why do you expect him to blow up in the start of the season? What basis do you have for this assumption when everyone else who played great last year including Harden played like trash in the beginning of the season? The Rox haven't been lacking players, they have been lacking GOOD players. With the way JSMith has been playing now he would've been benched and people would hate when he comes in like they do with Brewer.
False on you claiming what I would have said. It's not like Smith was playing great with Detroit when we got him. Veteran. Continuity. Not Harrell.
