KJ Martin to participate in Dunk Contest

Hopefully less embarrassing than Jalen's performance last year. He might not have shown much fanciness in games, but there's no way a kid with that much hops with the teammates he has hasn't thrown out some crazy ass dunks that we haven't seen.

 

They need to stop giving these spots to no name scrubs. I dont think anyone outside of rockets fans care that kj martin is in the dunk contest

 

Death, taxes, and getting your hopes up for the dunk contest only to be let down every year

 

Good for him, I guess. Hopefully it leads to more name recognition and more $$$. I haven't watched it in forever and will continue that trend this year.

 

Literally the reason he's "known" and known beyond our forum is because of his name.

He is a better dunker than Green. I hope he wins it. I like the kid.

 

Now the rest of the world will get to see the freak on display. And it will only increase his profile and value

KJ has small hands. I'm guessing we will see a bunch of misses.

 

Good to hear. He also seems to prepare and is pretty unfazed as a player, not getting too high or too low. So he could potentially do pretty well.

 

He will need KPJ to throw him lobs.

 

Specially when KMJ himself took a shot at his own teammate for going to the contest instead of him.

Basic one handed dunks from the free throw line. I want to see something diff.

 

Vince Carter elbow dunk incoming ... lol. I saw him do that in a high school dunk contest and nobody cheered. I was like... wth. I've never seen him do wild/creative dunks, so I'm kind of surprised by this, but whatever. Go KJ...

 

It would definitely be more entertaining to see KJ Dunk ON someone!

I think they should just do a game of west vs east 3on3 at the all star break. Something like Steph/Zion/Jokis vs Kyrie/Tatum/Giannis. Teams not based on how good their year was just who would be fun to see in a wide open but competitive street ball situation.
