It just shows you how much ESPN Insider is worth when a NBA player doesn't want to pay for it.

Basically what the Mocks are saying is that if the Texans dont select Ryan Mathews he will drop out of the 1st round? That makes me not want him even more.
Kyle Wilson would be a great addition to this team, maybe even better than Haden. Hopefully he will still be available

most mocks i've seen have had Matthews taken before 20. there are some that have the texans passing on him for a CB but he's snatched up by the chargers. he won't drop out of the first round.

its pretty safe to say that the Texans will take a CB and RB in the first 2 rounds. Order depends on availablity. Good thing both positions are deep this year. It should be interesting to see who they walk away with.

I'm curious how highly ranked Devin McCourty is and if he could be had in the second round. The guy may not have the immediate impact of wilson, but he seems like he has all the tools to become a solid cb

I think McCourty will be a 1st Rounder based on the dropoff of CB talent after him. He'd be a solid pick at #20 because of our need at CB if Wilson isn't available.

i just wonder if it wouldnt be too much of a reach at 20, then again, the guy doesnt seem to be that far off from a wilson/haden type. I mean, he had a good combine, technique appears to be very good and he's definitely a very smart player. Maybe they could trade down a few spots and still pick him up.

I was all for the Texans drafting Matthews with the pick, but the more I read the scouting reports, the more I think they should draft Wilson if he's still avilable because by the time the Texans draft again in the 2nd round most of the 3rd 4th and 5th CBs, will be long gone. History was shown you can get a good RB in the later rounds. Toby Gilhart or however you spell it, should be there in the 2nd round should we draft a DB with our first pick.

this is my thinking as well. If the texans want to get an immediate impact CB, or a chance at getting one, it is going to have to be in the first round

I think it'd be too much of a risk to trade down more than 2-3 spots and hope he's still there. The Eagles (#24), Ravens (#25), and Cardinals (#26) all need a CB and he'll likely get picked up by one of those teams if available.

While I'd much rather have Wilson or Thomas, McCourty at #20 wouldn't be much of a reach, if at all. I wouldn't consider him a sexy pick, but he's a good prospect at a position of need.
