An '05 era T-Mac and a healthy Yao with a supporting cast the caliber of that '08 team would have definitely netted us at least one ring. We would have had everything, size, perimeter D, scoring.
Chucker extraordinaire Marcus Thornton put him out of a job. Someone is going to foolishly pay big money for this guy in the offseason.
Marcus Thornton is a legit rotation player who's only in his 2nd year. Somebody might get their money's worth.
Dude, everyone knows.... you never go ass to mouth. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/UTgneLluypg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Jeff Van Gundy counted on him. He was the only one. I don't think anyone else ever though of him as a good player. No other NBA coaches seem to either. He fit Jeff Van Gundy's boring, outdated, and predictable offense because he could just stand there and shoot open shots and do nothing else. Unfortunately, just being athletic and able to knock down an open jump shot (during the low pressure regular season) does not make you a good player.
You sure? I remember him vs. the Jazz, twice, where his 3 point shot, his sole redeeming value, most of the time, was listed on the back of a milk carton. PS Rockets Dynasty, suicide the OHMMS moniker and come back with another one, this one is too well known by now. Like Medea murdering her children, you must kill those you love in order to save them.
The Kings really did him wrong by waiting this long to waive him to where he couldn't sign with another team for the playoffs. The Bulls would be one team that might want him to come off the bench as a 2 guard who can knock down shots. Lots of teams would find him useful.
I feel bad for the guy. Maybe some other team might sign him next year. Europe might be a future option as well.
