Congratulations to Sacramento. I really hope that the city is able to afford the arena, given the expense to the public. They have always supported their team and, hopefully, the team will finally install competent management and learn to be competitive financially without revenue sharing (if that is still part of Ranadive's offer).

Hopefully the fans will return to their games, cowbells in tow.

Clayton Bennett's the chair of the NBa relocation committee. He must really hate Seattle.

22-8 is a razor thin margin, considering there's probably 4-5 owners who were bullied by Stern to make the tally seem more decisive. Combined with a 4-3 relocation committee vote, it's really starting to expose cracks/factions within the 30 owners.

That's delusional. Stern is their employee.

Not sure why this is meaningful. People have different opinions and business judgments. Heck, take a vote among 30 of your family members about where to go to dinner is most likely result in a split.

    Stay strong Seattle!

Continue to be the inept franchise that you are Sacramento!

Have to think it was everyone who either has a problem with Stern, as well as those most affected by a team in Sacramento (wealthy owners).

    Maloofs, obviously

then Paul Allen, Cuban, Sterling, Buss, Prokhorov, Dolan, last one maybe Reinsdorf?

Or Stern is really just a vindictive prick.

First thing he says in the room is "Let's make this quick, I have a game in Oklahoma City to attend to". Never seen such blatant hatred by an important sports figure like his hatred for Seattle.

Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't the nba JUST talking about contraction? Now we are talking about expansion? WTH?

I believe revenues this year have been a fair bit higher than expected.

Time for the Maloofs to gut the team and send all their good draft picks (if they have any) to other teams as an FU to Stern.

Expansion would be horrible. If anything we need to contract and consolidate talent. Too many teams already super thin on talent.

Getting a bigger share of revenues helps.

They can dress it up however they would like. I still think it is a tough sell to convince a court that working with Sac on their bid while denying a much higher bid (with less public money) is targeted toward promoting competition.

Saw that. That guy really wanted to give an FU to Seattle. I have heard before that Stern knows how to hold a grudge.

I said from the beginning that Stern would not allow the Kings to move to Seattle. Stern is still pissed at Seattle for not giving the Sonics a shinny new arena. There s no question that if the Seattle group trying to buy the Kings were from Las Vegas and trying to move the team there they would already be gone.

    Stern is a prick.

If what you think is right and the NBA has a high probability of losing, I'm sure the Maloofs and the Seattle group will file a lawsuit any day now.

If what you think is right, then it is rather strange that the NBA, who no doubt had their counsel conduct a careful research of relevant anti-trust law, just willingly subjected itself to legal liabilities that include treble damages and that you claim risk breaking up the league.
