Other teams love first round picks when it's time to trade. And they're easier to trade than a salaried player. That said, I'm resigned to losing the pick....and getting absolutely pipe-and-helmet-bruise-on-the-face, handcuffed-to-the-urinal dick-slapped by GSW in the first round.

Arguably the second best player in the last draft was selected at 13 (a certain Bean was picked 13th as well), the 12th pick is far from worthless.
The Rockets cannot do anything right....... now they are going to blow the #12 pick to have the opportunity to get blown out and swept. Literally (other than Harden) nothing about the Rockets has gone right this season..... two coaches, with the "new" coach worse than the first...... a center that is concerned about his payday and is leaving... a power forward that is a weirdo (Jones).... another power forward that is ineffective and was traded for value (Motiejunas) but then the trade was canceled.... a small forward that has the basketball IQ of a mason jar (Brewer)...... a star shooting guard that was in a funk the first half of the season while he was busy cheating on the ugly Kardashian.......... and not they get an opportunity to be DESTROYED by a team that actually is focused on something other than money or ass.

GSW lost 9 times in 81 games. You expect Rockets to beat them 4 times in 7 games. Especially knowing that playoffs GSW is even better than regular season GSW. Think about it.
BTW, on what pretext do non-playoffs teams "rest" their players? They aren't going to play after that game. Rest for what?

For Cousins, you could come up with an excuse of him representing team USA in the Olympics and trying to avoid an injury by giving him too much action. For Rondo, you would need to get even more creative to come up with a possible excuse.
