Terrence Jones runs the pick and roll more than either of them, hell it's the only thing he's any good at. The issue wasn't lack of pick and roll, it's that Lin sucks. It's probably time to pull your head out of your ass blaming the Rockets for his failures.
Have a hard time believing 1/3 of CF are this bullish on the Kings - the most dysfunctional franchise in the league
Just because you have the best player doesn't mean you're going to be the best team. Too much dysfunction in Sacramento and DMC is too immature to just play. He'll probably cause more drama and sink the ship.
Well on ESPN Radio today Chris Mannix said the Mavs had the 2nd best offseason and are real contenders this year. Oh and he also said the Mavs truly believe they are in a position to get KD next offseason. So I guess the Mavs?
Kings, Wolves need to make the playoffs. They need to at least enjoy being in the playoffs after missing many seasons.
I know Amin isn't well liked, but he brought up a good point. Players just don't return full-form to Achilles tears.

Courtesy of @RotowireATC: all players who have torn Achilles since 2005-06. Only one guy (Jerebko) truly bounced back pic.twitter.com/ByvUxzkeda
— Amin Elhassan (@AminESPN) July 1, 2015
Micro-fracture surgery isn't a walk in the park, either. Add that to Dirk's age and defense, the DJ literally having zero post moves, and I could definitely see Kings being better. I think Rondo will reassert himself as a quality guard. Playing with Boogie obviously helps a lot. People obviously love to dog their long-term gamble/moves, but the current Kings roster isn't that shabby. Boogie is a top 10 player in the league IMO.
even if matthews bounces back it won't be THIS year. It will take him at least one more to get near 100% (doubtfull he ever gets back 100%). This is the story with achilles injuries and this is why any thoughts on trading for Jennings should be thrown out the window immediately.
This question is ridiculous. The mavs record wasn't that much worst than the rest of the playoff west, all the while their dysfunction was at an all time high and dealt with a lot of injuries come playoffs. We should stop with the mavs hate. We beat their asses last year. Wasn't even a close series, and Cuban and their players for the most part gave us props at the end. They have improved immensely, but we shouldn't be bitter
Dallas as no #1 guy, just a bunch of #3 guys. Damarcus is the best payer and he has some talent around him now. I'll go with the kings
As a mavs fan what i expect is a decent season maybe 6th seed if we are lucky.....but a good future to build around. The mavs finally have some players to bring in FA in the following seasons (I am not saying Durant) and even those in the mavs organization are saying this is a multi year process. To say the kings will be better though is a joke in itself. The mavs under carlisle have always found ways to score one way or another. So though they do not have a great PG they wont go very far in playoffs most likely....but hey anything is possible nobody thought they stood a chance back in 11
No he didn't "Free agent point guard J.J. Barea has agreed to stay with the Dallas Mavericks, according to Puerto Rican newspaper El Nuevo Dia. He will eventually sign a two-year, $5.6 million contract with the team, according to NBA.com's David Aldridge."
This. In my opinion Gay is the second best. The Kings have 3 bigs in Cousins, Koufos and WCS that are excellent defensive players, finish at the rim and have an outside shot. Behind them they have some excellent shooters: Belinelli Casspi (over 40% from 3PT last season), McLemore, Collison and Gay. Rondo and Cousins play slower, but the rest of the team can simply outrun the Mavs from the court.
DJ will not be as good as he was for the Clippers. Much like Parsons, DJ benefited from his two superstar teammates. Will they force DJ to prove he is "Shaq-like"? Seems like he was promised the moon by Cuban, just like Parsons was. If he doesn't get the touches he's expecting or he isn't as successful being a featured offensive player you'll see tension again as we did with Rondo there last year. His ego was built up when he was signed, if things don't go well DJ will be frustrated for leaving money and a contender behind. A lot of DJ's points came off great passes from not just CP3, but Blake Griffen who is one of the best passing big men in the league. If Blake drove in he immediately drew attention, he often just made the extra pass to DJ for an easy bucket. Dallas doesn't have anything like this. Parsons driving in and dishing? Maybe if his knee is 100%, but I am sure he will have lost some bounce after turning 27, being rusty from not playing, and probably not trying to jump out of the gym as much after surgery and even without injury he was never anywhere near BG and the attention he demands from defenders. DJ with just focusing on defense and lobs gets into foul trouble, imagine him trying to post up and be "shaq-like" lol he's going to get even more offensive fouls. He couldn't even stay on the court game 5. Are they really going to feature him offensively like they claim? I can't imagine DJ posting up, and some random point guard trying make entry passes.
