I never knew Theus as a player, so yeah, I'll always know him Hang Time. Which reminds me of how Bob Golic said that he gets more recognition for that one season of Saved by the Bell: The College Years, than he ever did playing football.
I remember Hang Time. Teddy Broadis's father played for the Rockets and he had a poster of him in his room (wearing Rockets' red).
haha ah hang time man that show blew. honestly reggie theus i mean i think the maloofs have just destroyed the franchise that they had built in the late 90s
I loved that show as a kid. Hell anything basketball related was enjoyable to me, regardless of the B level content.
But apparently Reggie Theus was VERY serious about coaching. Pitino said Reggie was there at 6 a.m. or something like that and putting in all the crazy hours when he was an assistant with Pitino.
I used to love the whole TNBC lineup. Saved by the Bell: The New Class, Hang Time, California Dreams. City Guys was okay, but that was about the time I started outgrowing the shows.
Before Jordan, Theus was the face of the Chicago Bulls. The boy could flat out ball. I was very young then but I still remember how he played. He was dominant. http://www.reggietheus.org/
I wonder how many casual fans will tune into a Kings game next season, see a shot of the coach, and go, OMG, that's Coach Bill Fuller from Hang Time!!!! WTF?
Seriously, I'll never be able to take him seriously when I see him on the floor. I'll just think Coach Fuller every time I see him. And then I'll get that stupid hang time intro song stuck in my head.
