The owner of that team is so awkward. Remember when he drafted Nick Stauskas and directed his entire staff to say “Nick Rocks!” in unison?
Everyone killing this move...I think with how they want to play, Luke is a good fit. I don’t care what happened in LA, he never had a chance with LeBron there. Now, if you want to argue that Joerger should not have been fired, I think there is an argument there.
The NBA is so rigged. All these coaches with more credentials & better track records, but LUKE WALTON is the one hired a day after getting fired (or "mutually" parting ways)? My guess is somebody within the NBA fraternity, who knew he'd eventually get let go, set him up with Sacramento out of sympathy for him getting canned. Better coaches didn't get that opportunity that deserve it. This hire isn't even about basketball, it's somebody doing favors for somebody else
He was lucky enough to be lead assistant coach at Golden State when Steve Kerr had health issues and needed to take time off.
Yeah, didn't Walton go 24-0 in that stretch or something, with his excellent coaching? (And a garbage lineup of Curry-Thompson-Durant-Green-Bogut)?
And? That team and organization is a train wreck across the board. No one was on the same page. Players knew Walton was dead man walking and I don’t think he was able to do what he wanted. I’m not saying he will definitely be successful with the Kings, but I think the roster is a good fit for what he wants to do.
Divac wouldn't have to hire Walton had he taken Doncic with the #2 pick. He'd have the pick of all the best coaches available. Durant?
