I don't mind seeing the Kings peak during the next couple of years and beat the heck out of the Lakers while the Rockets develop into the next dynasty.
Pollard was aweful against Shaq. Shaq pushed him around (no shame hear, he does that to about everyone) and consistently outquicked him usually dunking on him while getting the foul (there IS shame here). Clark should at least be quick enough to foul Shaq earlier in the play reducing the old fashioned 3 point oppertunnities. Clark is a better shot blocker and much better offensive player than Pollard--and pretty equal in every other facet save perhaps unmeasured hustle and energy (not an unimportant contribution of Pollard I admit). Clark immediately becomes the first King of the bench (Pollard's minutes go down and Funderburkes go to nil barring extreme circumstances) and is a much more quality starter if Vlade or Webber can't go here and there (quite likely given their age and health). Provided it doesn't hurt their Bibby deal there is nothing you can fault the Kings with this move. The rich get richer, plain and simple.
One thing I don't get is that soooooooo many players are looking to next year as being the promised land. Like next year is when they are getting paid the big bucks (heck, in my opinion they ALREADY ARE but that's beside the point). A few of them are going to get big contracts next season. The Duncans, Kidds, Olowokandis (can't believe I have to put his name next to the other two..) etc. But other than a few BIG signings do the Keon Clarks of the NBA really think there will be enough room under the cap for all of them? Some of these foos are gonna be goin' cheap next year....sorry boys, only 4 more Escalades for your fleet...
