As a raptor fan, I agree that JV needs more touches -- but when you're scoring as efficiently as Derozan is right now it's hard to take the ball out of his hands. JV was averaging ~14 FGA through the first three games and you could tell there was a concerted effort to get him the ball. When Derozan cools down JV's touches will increase significantly.
What's up with everyone going off? No defense this year? Reminds me of the 05-06 season in which Kobe, Iverson, LeBron and Gilbert all averaged 30 or more i think, but that was directly a result of a rule change. Don't worry, I criticise him when he plays poorly. Can't do that currently though. He scores half of what derozan does, but he keeps everyone involved - especially his max center.
Great point. A good team will only care about efficiency, not where it comes from. If for example WB is actually converting at an ungodly rate it wouldn't be an issue if he took 40 attempts per night, I mean MJ and Pippen basically got 90% of the shots on those Bulls teams but it didn't matter because they were converting everywhere on the court.
It is beyond ridiculous that Valanciunas is not more involved in their offense. He should be getting A LOT more FGAs. DDR is going to cool off. They need Vala playing at another level if they are going to get back to the ECF.

Last time I paid attention he was having work ethic and strength issues and he was considered by the fans a wasted roster spot with almost zero improvement in his game. What happened? Keep us updated.
