anomalies in a 10 year career. Mike james scored 20 a game in toronto, does that mean he's a 20 point guy?

I'm not disagreeing with you about the Pistons or the Eastern Conference.

Still disagree about RJ. I used to follow the Nets a lot and Lebron is much better than RJ.

I just don't think Lebron is overrated. I suppose overrated is a very subjective term though. Overhyped with commercials and endorsements? Sure. But I don't think most basketball experts claim that he's the best player in the league or anything. He was 5th in the MVP voting. About where I would put him.

On that team yes. In that situation he was a 20 point scorer, he could always score the ball if given the right situation. Duncan was a good FT shooter in college as well. Its a mental thing with him as well, not a physical thing.

so in 14 years he's shot over 70% just 4 times. anomalies, like I said.

the fact of the matter is, Lebron is not getting better as he plays more in the NBA, so the whole beating us over the head with his age thing is not really working. the only real leap he ever made was between year 1 and year 2, and he's been coasting since.

Well I am guessing that is stat based, because he has led his team to the playoffs in both of the last two years, and to the finals this year. Sure, he might be overhyped, but he is not overrated. He has to carry a whole team on his back like Kobe, and he does it with out all of the complaining. He will improve with more additions to his team, no doubt.

i'm so sick of people always blaming the cavs cast. Lebron's always had a decent cast around him. If you wanna feel sorry for someone, feel for KG, feel for Kobe, those are guys with real dogs in their lineup.

LeBron is not overrated. He's still young and improving. He plays in a weak conference, but he did almost singlehandedly beat a good Pistons team. I think the media and many fans had unrealstic expectations of him because he led his team past a Pistons team that was much stronger and more experienced than the Cavs. Many expected him to do it again against a much better defense like the Spurs without any help from his teammates. No one else on the Cavs has stepped up this Finals, which is putting more pressure on him to make a play, and with the way the Spurs are forcing him to shoot jumpshots or face many defenders in the lane, his duties become that much harder.

LeBron is not overrated so much as overhyped in my opinion.

But that doesn't change the fact that this is only his 4th season and he's already this good.

Lebron overrated, really? He is far better than Richard Jefferson though. I tought the pistons were contenders, but against the cavs they were just bad and Lebrons terrific game 5, well he was good, but what about the defense. I see that like Kobe scoring 81. What the hell did the raptors do to defend him.
I would Lebron is a great player, but not on Kobe, T-Mac, Nash, Duncan etc level

If people consider Lebron overrated then we might as well consider Wade overrated to

I think the difference between the stars and the scrubs in the league is not as big as what the media and the NBA wants to make it out to be. 80% of the players could score 30 points in a certain game given enough shots and opportunities. Therefore, generally speaking, all the NBA stars are overrated and all the NBA scrubs are underrated.

Wade is definitely overrated. He is almost totally a product of the new rules. His only move is to drive to the basket and get fouled. Imagine if you were not allowed to touch Yao without a foul call. He could score on a dunk pretty much every possession.

I think everybody will agree LeBron is better than RJ...... the thing is if RJ was put in the SAME situation (#1 Scoring Option, More Minutes, Accept the role of leader/captain) and had a body built like LeBron (2 inches taller, stronger) he could definitely put up the same numbers King James is putting up. Go research their stats... it could be almost identical.

If Jefferson had to bring the ball up court, pass, and handle as much as James he would average 10 turnovers a game. They don't even have the same skillset, this shouldn't even be an argument.

    Dennis Scott
    Nick Anderson
    Penny Hardaway
    Horace Grant

Every one of those guys were better than anyone else on the Cavs BY FAR.
