Saw KB1 this afternoon... What a glorious mess! Some great scenes : the swordmaker, the animated history of Lucy Lui, The opening with the cheesy old 'feature presentation ' with the static, the cops at the wedding, the 'orderly pimp' , the Japanese girl band, Kaboom cereal, telling Vivica Fox's daughter I'll be around and some horrible scenes : all spewage, the Crazy 88's in blue, Gogo, the serial editing Some killer sound track stuff and foley sounds like the swish and clang of the Samuri. But what the hell was all that Zamphair flute crap? Tarantino is best when he is terrifying us with an upclose look at the most extreme violence human beings are actually capable of: accidental decapitations, heart needles, redneck rapist, sadistic murderers, things that really exist out there, things that really happen to some human beings.To have some very real terror and then slough it off with some comic book violence sorta loses the impact. I think KB would have been a better movie by sticking to one of the many genres
