God, I would give anything to have Sam Cassell in a Rockets uniform again.

I don't care if they tank every regular season game from here on out as long as they play to win on the 14th!

Jeff has an aversion to new and rough talent. He will force us to shadow Utah and make us "earn" that 25th seed...

Wow. Have fun, man. The Toyota Center's nice for visitors. I think the regular fans miss the Compact Center more, but Toyota Center is pretty.

IIRC, a while ago there was an article talking about JVG and how he thinks that draft positions shouldn't be based on record. He thinks that teams should not be rewarded for tanking a season to get high draft picks, and that the draft should be completely random even if it means teams like Dallas gets the #1 pick. I personally wish he would tank to get move up a bit, since this is a deep draft, but honestly, I dont think JVG will do it. Just look at what happened last year with ROY, he coulda fell right into our hands, and its funny how JVG calls ROY a very, very good and one hell of a player after the Portland game.

JVG said that Home court doesn't mean anything. So now that we are locked in against the Jazz, I think he's resting his stars and working on the bench. He's giving guys like VSPAN and Bonzi their chances to see if any of them can crack the rotation.

Basically, right now, it's pre-season. The games are meaningless.

just because jvg said it doesnt mean anything doesn't mean its true. In this serious homecourt is everything! Just look at the jazz record home and away...big disparity.

It will cost us if we dont snatch this away, considering the fact utah is handing it to us.

It's funny; I give no credence to tanking for the #23 but it did cross my mind as a fringe benefit of not reaching 50 wins.

Doesn't matter. If we don't make some noise in the playoffs, JVG won't be asked to return, TMac will fill Charlotte's 17 million dollar hole under the salary cap in exchange for Charlotte's 1st and 2nd round picks....

I say all this in semi-jest. There's something strange about T-Mac and his "bad back" and how he was smiling when he got benched.

If it is a matter of "I quit because I don't agree with my coach that I should work hard despite the fact we already secured a spot in the playoffs against Utah," then it does rankle a bit.

This team has no finishing kick, and some changes are needed in the offseason. Overreacting? While we wait for this team to fail again, even more teams in the West will improve, and one of our superstars will be breaking down/being lazy and the other will only sometimes hit his stride.

How did I get off on this tangent?

Jay-Z, P Diddy, LL Cool J, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Dr Dre, E-40, & the whole Wu-Tang Clan amongst others, all agree on that assessment.

Hawks surrendered all their draft picks until year 2143 to Phoenix Suns for Joe Johnson. In fact, they were so confident, they did not even lottery protect those picks.

T-mac and Head will probably retire in Houston, so why would we want to draft a sg/sf ? We need to fill more immediate needs if we want this T-mac - Yao tandem to win a championship.. its no time for development no.

because teams don't draft on need. they're giving away multi-year guaranteed contracts to unproven talent.

Head is not going to retire in Houston. I can easily see him being traded as soon as this offseason.

WE still need that third scoring ioption and Morris is as nba ready as any player in the draft, after playing four years at rice. He's a deadly shooter adn has a high basketball iq and is a great spot-up shooter. He plays good defense too. He could be that thrid scoring option off the bench that we're lacking.ANd plus he's big and tall and versatile. We need a player like him

That may be so, but as long as Head and T-mac are here, not to mention Snyder, I don't think Morris is going to see the floor that much. We should draft at a position where we are thin so that the rookie we drafted has more chances to play and develop
