the score in the movie was good too, rehash of sunshine from John Murphy. Especially the scene Spoiler Big Daddy is on fire and Hit Girl saves Kick Ass Here is the song <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/gCJFHiXJ6a0&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/gCJFHiXJ6a0&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> Mix from the original Surface of the Sun-John Murphy
Edit this is actually the song <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/SMVik3EFVn4&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/SMVik3EFVn4&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
great great flick Hit Girl is probably the most original character in the new millennium realistic? hell no, but better than any thing else anybody has made up since the turn of the century, and yes, I know its based off a comic book, but even the comic book didnt come out till '08 Lyndsy Fonseca and if you thought you've seen her before? She played the gf that stabbed John Cusack in Hot Tub Time Machine smokin......
I took my friend to go see it and he didn't like the Hit-Girl character saying it is fake and all and r****ded that a little girl could do that much damaged.. Then I told him that If I ever had a daughter I want her to be exactly like Hit-Girl going out fighting crime and bringing justice to those that did wrong..
Saw this last night. Great fun, and not cartoony at all. Only think I didn't like.. Spoiler I really didn't like the decision to have Big Daddy die. Now I have not read the comic, so if it's in the comic that way, then so be it. Otherwise, I thought it was nearly flawless. Mark Strong in particular absolutely killed, in more ways than one. Of course Cage and Hit-Girl were awesome, Cage totally made me laugh my buttock off with his Adam West riffs, and Mindy with that contemptuous sneer was just perfect. I do wish the Red Mist character had been a little more fleshed out, as his motivations were never really clear. Hopefully this makes a ton of money, and I can see how the movie ended with a wink at the typical sequel set-up, but I am not sure that means there could actually BE one, or if it was just another inside joke. In any case, Ebert is a douche, and the movie was not nearly as 'inappropriate' as the chatter had led to believe. Highly recommended, go see it! 10 Thumbs Up
As others have already mentioned, the "mature content" is nothing compared to the violence you see in the obligatory slasher flicks or the flesh shown / obscenities uttered by teens in the obligatory gross-out coming-of-age Animal House homages. Ebert should really get off his high horse.
Saw it last night thought it was an excellent adaptation and a fun movie. I haven't read the comic but have read the main details of the graphic novel and while some changes are obvious the main story seems to be there. If anything they did a much better job then was done on Wanted of which I had read the graphic novel before watching the movie and ,while a good popcorn movie, they basically neutered the dam novel.
I saw the movie today. I love everything about the movie expect the burning of so and so. But overall, highly recommended.
this is a movie that was improperly marketed and thus didn't get the box office it should have but this is a kickass movie and will live on in Blue Ray and on the internet. Nero, Furious Jam, etc... Kick Ass is actually a case where the movie and the comic were conceptualized at the same time. the movie rights were sold before the comic came out and one was written with the other in mind Agree that the comic is better but touches in the movie were awesome Anyone else notice who Nick Cage delivered his lines while in the Big Daddy suit like 1960s Adam West? Lol awesome. The kid playing Kickass was actually more peter parker than toby magwire and the GF was HOT.
Yeah, he should have been cast in the Spider-Man reboot. Instead he's playing Cyclops in the young X-Men thingie that's coming out.
