He's had two really good games, but let's nor forget that Brooks looked like the greatest 3-point shooter ever in his first two games. Thomas will come back down to earth. I like what Stone is doing with these last few games of the season, though. Take a chance on low-risk young talent and see if anyone plays well enough to come back next year. These last few games may feel meaningless, but it's a great chance for some young guys to get experience, play a lot of minutes and to see if they're legit NBA players or not.
The best news about Thomas is that he's showing very intriguing defensive potential. Not like Brooks. I'm impressed with him. I know Detroit had Rose, Reggie Jackson, Ish smith, and ATL has Young, Lou, Dunn, still dont understand how he's been available. We got lucky.
Considering the number of guys on the Rockets roster that fit that description , I think this topic deserves its own thread. DaQuan Jeffries Anthony Lamb Armoni Brooks Khyri Thomas Cameron Oliver Brooks got off to a hot start then went ice cold for a week before finding his way out of that funk. Jeffries didn't get much run at first but has been playing really well with the extended minutes lately. Anthony Lamb has been solid .... much better than I expected. Thomas can play .... no one signed him all season ?! He can help a lot of teams. Who's brought back and who isn't ? There's a case to be made for any of them.
I think these next 4 games will give us some more data points to make an assessment, but right now I think it makes sense to bring them all back to camp and see who works there ass off in the summer and makes any kind of jump. They're all relatively young and have been playing good ball for us (ex Cam). Khyri has certainly been impressive in his first two games against MIL and UTH. I really love his quick release and defensive prowess. Dude is definitely taking advantage of his opportunity.
ah so this guy was under the radar. If he pans out like a jrue, rockets very well have them something special. Could Be that Eric Gordon replacement for sure.
Man oh man. Lock this kid down. Has been shooting crazy Steph-ish splits in the GL. And now we see this defense and size? LOCK HIM DOWN.
