I actually agree, if he played well we could have opened up more options like Granger or someone like that

I stand by the Rockets organization for the way they handle Tracy.

For the argument that this has/will hurt the Rockets when acquiring Free Agents I really doubt that.

When a player is weighing his options, he's looking at multiple factors. Here is a better question...how many players have said they have not like playing under Adelman? It has been the opposite.

One incident isn't going to scare players away from here...but our lack of talent will if Yao doesn't make a strong return...

He isn't being showcased because right now he can't go; his only value is as an expiring contract and everybody knows it. The only person giving Tracy minutes helps is Tracy (get another contract) and that's only if he could play his way into sizeable minutes again, which would be to the detriment of this team.

As someone has suffered through several lower back injuries, I feel for him. They don't ever fully heal, and they've effectively cost him money and rings. However, it was Tracy's choice to try and undermine the organization and I feel like the Rockets have shown him about as much respect as he's shown them which is zero. Like I said, I hope the guy makes it back but he needs to do it somewhere else. What he does with his next contract will show where Tracy's heart is.

And by the way, to anyone who has been in a coma for the past 20 years, sports is a business. The New England Patriots traded Richard Seymour, who by the way was the anchor for their defensive line for 3 Super Bowl titles, to Oakland. Please don't forget about Asante Samuel, Ty Law, Dieon Branch amongst other players. Teams have turnover (no pun intended) and move on, especially from players who have failed their team. Yes, I said fail. T-Mac failed The Rockets and the City of Houston. That whole back injury fiasco was a pain to watch, considering he was probably faking it (it just so happen that he was experiencing a lot of "personal problems" around the same time as the injury). My point is, it is a business, it is in Houstons best interest to get rid of the guy, and he was becoming a distraction so they sent him home. Why give him more minutes? So he can hurt his back, knee or shoulder again? Then we couldn't trade the guy! Have any of you TOF considred that? Maybe they limited his minutes because he gets hurt yearly, and if he did get hurt, that would kill all chances of trading his contact....err, him.

I think the Rockets are more scared of him going out there and pulling one of these again

It be funny if he doesn't even get traded. Wasn't originally stated that he wouldn't even be ready to go until after all star break?? I could have sworn that but later on there were reports sayin that he was ahead of schedule

And you'd still be in the same position as your in know(only worth an expiring)

Where as it being a contract year, most likely your gonna get someone with something to prove in which we could have benefited from.

How about NBA disrespects T-Mac? Ain't no takers for his expiring contract, man. They're more interested in our up and coming young players.

Barkley should have a lot of experience with disrespect, seeing as how he does a lot of disrespecting those people and teams he does not like, like the Rockets

As much as I do not like hearing someone bash my team, I think that Chuck has a point. I also think that if the Rockets could rewind time a few months that Tracy McGrady would be playing a significant amount at the moment (assuming he would still be healthy). I know that the whole situation with T-Mac last year burned a lot of bridges but we could contend with a mediocre T-Mac right now. Now that we know that is not a possibility, I say we let his contract expire. I do not think we can make a trade that will put us over the top. At least not enough to win a championship.

How the Lakers benefitted from Ariza getting key steals and hitting 50% behind the arc in the playoffs, all players play their best in contract years.

We'd probly be 2nd best in the West now with T-mac in his contract year ;)

Let's assume you're right. That would mean that we'd have a good record and make the playoffs. But we'd be nowhere near championship caliber. The end result would be that we would lose out on a possible draft pick.

So no, playing McGrady would not help us in the long term which is our main focus.

Very true, if your rebuilding but Morey's seemed more about retooling for when we get's Yao back.

This could have been used as a measuring stick to see what he has left, because when he's healthy he's better than butler, iggy etc.

And we have yet to see what the team is capable of with all the pieces, not to mention we finally have our 3rd scorer that we've been missing all along in brooks.

Were the Rockets rebuilding when they drafted Sam Cassell? Robert Horry?
