Seriously? Are there any nice guys in the NBA that are winners? It seems like a prerequisite to being a star in the NBA is being a major a$$hole. This is getting out of hand.

KG is a douchebag no doubt but I have no issue about what he said and what he didn't do.

He is a Celtic now and it was a Lakers ball boy what are the odds that that ballboy is going to keep that basketball and not sell it instead? If he is a lakers ball boy the guy you figure is a big lakers fan or knows someone in the lakers org to get that gig. that guy doesnt want it cuz he is a fan of kg more than likely he'll want it to sell. its something ball boys do they get stuff signed and sell elsewhere.

You know you're totally right. Duncan may act like an ass to officials, but they kinda deserve it. All in all the guy is a class act. I will rep you good sir... Too bad there aren't more...

Totally agree. I love KG talking trash all the time. Larry Bird would have cursed a Laker ball boy's mother if he'd asked him for an autograph.

Eh, so what if he sells it? In the end, if he sells it or keeps it a Boston fan gets a signed KG ball. KG has just grown full of himself, although, I'm not quite sure why...

he's a ballboy for one. he works for an NBA team. he shouldn't be making a profit on the side while doing his job. he would have exploited the KG appearance and basically spit upon his own loyalty.

    the douchebag is the ballboy

What turned me against KG, were his monster dunks after we threw in the towel, during the game that ended our 22 game winning streak. Didn't like that Doc left the starters in, long after we had emptied our bench.

I have to agree - I love the trash talking, hyper competitive players. While KG occasionally crosses the line(and by the way, this wasn't one of those times), that's just part of keeping that edge. I would much prefer a super intense locked in KG trash talking all game, scratching, kicking and biting until the end than Dwight Howard yucking it up all game telling jokes trying to be everyone's friend.

...I suspect the old school guys don't mind KG as much as the newer guys who have already received their David Stern sanctioned NBA neutering.

Seriously, some of you obviously didn't grow up in the era of Jordan, Oakley, Barkley, Anthony Mason, John Starks, and other legends. If you think what KG was bad, you should have been around THESE guys. My brother worked for the Rockets back in the Championship era, and he has stories that would apparently make a lot of people on this board gnash their teeth. When you're ultra-competitive, sometimes you act like a douche. It comes with the territory....I happen to think Garnett is a complete tool, but it has nothing to do with this incident.

On a side note, I'm not liking this trend of these NBA players going completely soft, and I really think the public has a LOT to do with it. The Nanny state we live in is getting out of control.....who cares if he didn't sign a ballboys basketball? Is that kid's life any worse off for it?? If anything, why is this kid getting a ball signed by an opponent?? He's a LAKERS ballboy.....those are the players he should be interacting with. If an opponent is cool enough to sign the ball, then that's great....but if he doesn't want to, it shouldn't be big news, and people shouldn't be up in arms over it. Anyways, that's just my $.02. Carry on.

So? I watched them play. I never liked these guys.

Again, why do you have to be mean to be competitive in a sport?
