Come on now...it doesnt matter how much you have, that's a lot of money. Out of all the movie stars and athletes, how many of them have come close to his amount? They all make ridiculous amounts of cash. No way you can critisize KG, in any way, for his effort here.
sorry but how in the hell can you say he's not giving enough???? i'm tired of this crap. he's giving over $1 mil. out of his own pocket and it's still not enough. why doesn't he just him all of his career earnings....is that enough for you? he's doing a great thing and some assclown thinks he's cheap. how much did the NFL as a whole give? $1 mil. kg is giving more than the entire National Football League and the NFL making more cake than any other pro sport out. a rod is making a quarter of a billion dollars, how much did he give??? nothing that i've heard of. so if you are going to criticize kg, why don't you criticize all of the other athletes not donating a dime.
I'd b**** about the owners not giving enough long before i'll b**** about any of the players. the owners are making the big money.
I don't think fba34 is critizising KG in particular. Of course he must think that those just as rich giving less or nothing are just as bad or worse than KG. I tend to agree with fba34 thuogh. You can't compare it saying someone with a regular salary should gove 1/9 of that. The relevant comparison to make is to see what is left of that salary after necessary expenses and give an equal part of that. In KG:s case it'll still be pretty much the same since necessary expenses are dwarfed by his unreal insome, but for someone with a regular income the amount to give to equal KG:s donation would be significantly smaller than 1/9 of total salary.
i bet you'd think 25 million would be too little for Bill Gates too, huh? by the way, i really don't know how much BG contributed, i was just trying to point out how rediculous your statement is. just b/c you have alot of money, you're not obligated to give any of it away.
Who knows how much he has given to other charities as well? I think $1 million is still a significant amount of money, even for the $225 million he has so far.
I assume those saying 1/9th of his income is fair regardless of what he makes also feel the same way about taxes?
First of all, I've met KG a few times in a working situation. I wasn't someone with whom he need bother remembering, but he did remember me the next time I saw him. I was in an entirely different city and he had no way of knowing I'd be there either. To me, that's a special kind of person. I have no idea how many people I meet all the time I completely forget about, but that guy remembered me. On top of that, it was just all around obvious he is a really decent, humble man. As for his donation, I'm not surprised. KG consistently contributes to all sorts of charities. I am baffled and a bit offended somebody would have the nerve to say "That's not enough." Now, Kobe, however, ought to donate at least as much as he was willing to spend on his wifes new ring.
