Kevin "I also win a throwing the most F bombs per sentence" at it again. Of course it's just "playing hard". Nope....he's not soft at all. He just takes 18 foot jumpers all day. Dirk is in the low post more than he is.
KG really used to annoy me but I kinda got over it. He's not evil, he's not the worst guy in the NBA, but he's competitive and he's somewhat of a dick. It's whatever. Lots of people are like that.
While Calderon annoys me, Garnett was just being an ass. Trash talking is one thing, but what he was doing went a little beyond. Who points at someone while they're dribbling yelling in their ear? And even if you'll let him get away with that, they weren't even matched up with each other, so why is he talking to Calderon? Anyone have some background information?
i would be surprised if the league doesnt fine or asses kg a post game technical. this has been all over youtube and yahoo has it on their front page of the nba section. the league doesnt like bad pub and doesnt like a blatant jab or perceived favoritism of its official because if anything that was a favoritism non-call. deke does less finger waging after a block and he has been T'ed up for taunting when it wasnt even in a players' face.

To all the people saying "everyone trash talks, big deal." That's irrelevant to the discussion. I'd agree with you but the NBA has taken the line that they need to crack down on all taunting in the game so its a bit annoying to see Ron Artest get T'd up for trying to pull Yao away and then see KG open his damn mouth and wave a finger at Calderon and see nothing. This is honestly more with the NBA than KG. I personally think KG's a fraud. There were so many times were there was a near altercation and he just stays back and gets called "calm or cool" where if Dirk does the same thing (not to defend Dirk but he seems like a prime example) he's called soft. But in this case, its just bad NBA refereeing combined with KG pretending to be a badass.
I don't really care if KG is talking like that, but I just want Stern and the refs to be consistent with whatever they call. If you don't call out KG for doing it, then don't call out anyone else for doing it.
So when Mutumbo does a finger wag, to the crowd and RARELY(probably accidentally) to the person he blocked, it's a tech. Here, Garnett's practically harassing Jose. There's taunting, then there's being an idiot.
Props to Calderon for standing up to KG. Its not everyday when you see a 7 foot 11 time all star center walk up to a 2nd year NBA player to talk trash
So KG is Chinese now? Or are you saying that because somebody harrassed someone else, it's ok for them now to be harrassed? If so you live your life by a pretty stupid system... everyone will eventually end up doing something bad to someone else because that other person 'deserved it'... the idea of karma simply doesn't work.... Having watched the video - I don't think what KG did was really all that bad - in fact, it looked positively stupid... what was he wagging his finger in the guys face for? What was he going on about? It looked to me like Calderon got a rebound, and then got soundly taunted by Garnett as he dribbled the ball up the court. "Watch it Jose - I'm wagging my finger in yo' face..." Wow - the burn Jose must have felt for being pointed at! No doubt Garnett is a classless idiot - but this bordered more on the idiot side than the classless! The refs probably would've T'd him up, but they probably couldn't figure out what was going on! "What the heck is KG pointing at Calderon for? Does he have a bee on his jersey?"
Definitely agree I used to be a fan of kg but ever since he started talking down and taunting players I've lost respect for him and frankly I've started to not like him. He also was doing this sort of thing to rafer last week
No problem with some smack talking, but when you're clapping and waving your finger in someone's face you deserve a T.
I have lost all respect for KG. I liked Calderon's attitude,he didn't back down from Garnett. KG deserves a tech and a fine IMO.
