Garnett is kind of a douche but I'd rather have a guy with his exuberant intensity than a guy like Tmac who appears to not give a damn about the outcome of his teams game.

True that. That's the difference, KG picks and chooses the average/below average players, ALWAYS.

Or the smaller guys to look like he is "dominating" at all parts of the court

Yes, it was an offensive foul... Yao lowered his off arm... in that case it doesn't matter where you are on the court.. much less inside the arc. But anyways, I'm someone who doesn't mind cockiness from players... I was enjoying every moment of Kobe destroying Shane in game 2 of last years playoffs... but then again Kobe Bryant is my favorite player.

You can argue he's not in the top 5... but certainly in the top 10. I was referring to his intensity... if him being like a little fly that keeps talking **** helps him... then so be it... that's how he makes his money.

You are doing exactly the same thing media has been trying to do for years - portraying KG as the savior of the Celtics. I would not argue KG being an integral part of the championship team, but he's NOT the most important player out of the Big 3.

Tell me, who was the Finals MVP in Celtics championship run? Pierce outplayed Lebron on both ends in the Finals and he was the one that hit the clutch shots. Allen, KG and Pierce hadn't won anything before they got the ring. ALL of them. But saying KG riding on Pierce is definitely a better description than saying Pierce riding KG like you are tying to suggest.

I disagree, because I like watching defense. KG was BY FAR the most important aspect of that team D. Not to mention he gets EVERYONE ready to play EVERY, SINGLE, NIGHT.

Celtics without Pierce, Allen = lottery

Celtics without Pierce = First Round Exit

    Celtics with Pierce = Champions

And your argument that Garnett would have won more if he were on teams like the Spurs or the Lakers further solidifies that the man can't carry a team when they need him the most (i.e. the postseason).

Garnett's efficiency during his Minnesota days is off the charts and his career statistics compares favorably with any of the great power forwards in NBA history and his heart is unquestioned but that doesn't excuse his sometimes idiotic and unless acts. Heart can't buy you common sense and/or intelligence.

You like watching Thibodeau's defense. Yes, Garnett is a damn good defensive player but to say that he's "BY FAR" the most important aspect of the Celtics D is discrediting Tom Thibodeau's over haul of Boston's defensive plan.

Hey, don't get me wrong... I was rooting for the Rockets all the way.. as such I am a die-hard Rockets fan.. and obviously mocked all the Lakers.. as such I hate the Lakers... but Kobe Bryant individually... it's just amazing to watch the greatness of such a player.

Yao didnt lower his off arm. if you watch the replay again then you should notice that was KG who jumped a bit towards Yao while Yao was alrdy in the air, his arm was there before the take off.

I am OK with that. The reason the Celtics won was because of the Rockets.:)

I am OK with people thinking KG is an ******* on the court. I actually kind of like that in a player. I don't believe you can question his achievements, and all around play in general. He is a joy to watch, Old school basketball.

Off the court, I think he has a great heart.

He is one of the nicest people I have ever met, he is unbelievably courteous to his elders, and is just awesome with kids. Another guy that loves him who I think very highly of as a person is Bill Russell. I have been around quite a few players, and Kevin Garnett was a true class act. As "real" as a person can get. For that, He can go loony on the court for all I care, He is trying to win a game.

I also loved meeting Joe Dumars and Cuttino Mobley. Just awesome guys in that same classy mold off the court.

"destroying" Shane? hardly. If that Piece of crap rapist fav player of yours was that dominating we wouldn't have taken them to 7 with the team of amateurs we had. Kobe is one of the cheapest and dirtiest players in the league, and the fact that you thought that he "destroyed" Shane only says that you're really delusional .

says a lot about your character when your favorite player is that cheap arrogant idiot

but back to the thread, Kevin Garnett is the biggest prick in the history of the NBA. Not only is all that "intensity" crap an act, but this "intensity" only seems to come up against smaller weaker players. I mean, Calderon? really?. What's sad is the fact that people actually buy in to his crap and give him credit for being so "passionate".

how is others thinking you are a pu$$y a 'psychological advantage'?

you 'like' players who pick on people smaller than them and then run away like a girl when they fight back?

hmm...so this is why you have been defending the guy so much - you met him once and he was nice to you. thats great and all, but i think if you pulled kg's testicles out of your mouth for a minute you might understand what many of us are complaining about. picking on people smaller than you and running away like a little girl when they come back is not 'hard' or the actions of 'a class act'.

that is what i heard too.. I had a friend that met Garnett at a restraunt once and he was very polite and willing to just chat about anything.

But I still think he's an ass for his on court antics..
But I guess he's a class act off the court.. which is a lot more than I can say about our formal player Sam Cassell.. this guy is one of the biggest douche bags you will ever meet..
ok i am prepared to be flamed by tinman..

This is exactly why "Shane Battier" is my favorite player. He gives 100% every moment he is out there. He is a true professional and doesn't resort to childish tactics (Throwing Knees and Elbows, Taunting).

"Love is not arrogant, it is not boastful"

Shane loves the game while Kobe is demented and is an egomaniac.
While this might make him a better basketball player, I am reminded about a quote from John Wooden " How you win is just as important as winning"

    1. He is under your skin. It is very easy to see. He can take advantage of how rookies play by talking trash to them. if he initiates a fight without getting tossed for it, job well done. He is trying to win a basketball game, not a fight.
    2. Pick on smaller players? Talking trash? Who knows if KG initiated the trash talking. Maybe it was a response to what they said. We only see a birds eye view of what really goes on on the court...
    3. He is not "picking" on anyone. Again, you have no idea what goes on through the course of the game. Mind games son, mind games. KG will do ANYTHING to win.

Off the basketball court. KG=Class act.

On the basketball court. KG=A jerk, but an ultimate competitior who I would LOVE to play against...
