If KG is tough, he won't be a first round virgin for so many years before Cassell came along and save his reputation. He wouldn't even have won a ring if he couldn't manage to ride on Pierce's d!ck.
Basketball is a team sport. It is amazing that he even got the Wolves to the playoffs for so many years. I mean, you could make the same argument about Jordan... Outside of 25-15-6-2-2, What do you want the guy to do? He did not have a decent perimeter player before Sammy came along, so they played him at PG in the playoffs half the time. It was that bad. And btw, I think KG was a bigger reason for the Celtics winning a ring than PP. Defense and mental toughness won that series imo...
Funny, he never did (and never would have) pull that stuff against Rodman, Oakley, Barkley, Rambis, McHale, Willis, or any other hard-nosed power forward you can think of.
Ever seen White Men Can't Jump? Ever occur to you that MAYBE Kevin Garnett is TRYING to make these guys lose their cool? MAYBE he wants to start a fight with them if they are playing well? "Most guys don't play well when they are mad"...
doubtful. his douchebaggery is approaching that of karl malone, and i can't imagine any rocket fan being happy to see the mailman on the roster. and your mancrush is approaching disturbing proportions.
Yeah, things worked out really well for Boston when he was injured. Oh, that's right...they didn't make it to the Finals, much less win a championship KG is an amazing player and a great team defender, but he really is a total pu$$ when it comes to picking on smaller players. He is a total fake tough guy...but a great player who I would love to have on my team
You're smokin' the good stuff if you think KG didn't completely change the culture and standards of the Celtics once he got there. There's a reason the Celts weren't satisfied once they acquired Allen to accompany Piece. They knew it would be Garnett who would make the most dramatic impact.
the fictional movie w/ woody harrelson and blade? yes...yes i have. did it ever occur to you that people who try to pick fights w/ people smaller than them and when the smaller person responds and said person backpedals away from them that they might be a p***y? i think many are having a hard time distinguishing from being a hard player and being a jerk. garnett is a great player, but he has an established track record of taunting people smaller than him (or foreigners). and he also has an established track record of backing down when those he tries to start crap with come back at him. karl malone was a great player too, but he was also a dirty piece of crap.
I don't know what is worse, people defending KG's antics, or being a Utah Jazz fan. Anyone that plays any form of basketball knows what he does is straight disrespectful to the player and the game. I have never in my life seen someone get on all fours on a basketball court and taunt someone.
I agree KG has devolved into nothing but a bully but are you out of your mind? Riding on Pierce? Gimme a break, before the trade happened Pierce couldn't even lead his team to the playoffs: Celtics without KG, Allen = lottery Celts without KG= First round exit Celts with KG= Champions KG earned his ring, and if he hadn't played for Minny all these years and played for a great org like the Spurs or the Lakers he probably would have won a couple more already.
I dont think he's being disrespectful intentionally, KG just has trouble controlling his emotions like Artest and Sheed. The problem is KG's behavior gets glorified by the media, so he ends up thinking its a "good" thing, and rather than tone it done he ends up revving himself up even more. I mean, not sleeping on the plane just 'cause there's a game coming up? He's seriously disturbed, I wouldn't be surprised if when he retires he kills himself.
I guess if he is dumb enough to think it's a good thing because the media portrays it that way, than he might as well keep doing it. I try not to pay too much attention to it, but sometimes it gets way out of hand.
Psychological advantage. He has gained it on many that he has played. He has even gained it on Clutchfans apparently...
As others pointed out, weird how he never "loses his emotions" against physical players who will fight back. And tough, physical players are the ones who gives him the most trouble. So you'd think he'd lose his cool more often against them.
