I have to disagree with this. KG can and does score alot of basket in the post. He has a turn around baseline jumper, he has mini hook shot and other post moves. He does score alot of baskets off the pick-n-roll and the face up jumper but watch Duncan and he does also. I think what separates Duncan from KG is his defensive presence. I really believe that if you stuck KG on the Spurs, they would win titles also. We'll never know though. Penny was very very good coming out of college, arguably better than Kobe was when he came out of H.S. (people forget but Kobe was not very good his first 2 or 3 years, he was not on Penny or Wade's level in their first years). Penny got injured after Shaq left and was never the same again. D. Wade was very good before Shaq got there. He and Odom led that crappy Heat team to the Second round of the playoffs. Last season, Shaq was injured and missed the second round of the playoffs and He led the Heat with a sweep no less over the Wiz. I am tired of hearing people say Shaq made Wade a great player. Wade was great his rookie season and continues to become greater while Shaq is declining with all his injuries and weight issues.
People who are saying that Garnett is not a go-to guy and he is another Pippen are on crack. Period. I don't think the guy is aggressive enough down the stretch, particularly in big games, consistently, but the guy is every bit the player that Duncan is, and Shaq. Garnett's problem is that he has rarely had the supporting cast of those guys. People point towards the first round exits, but when you're cnosistently a 7 or 8 seed with a mediocre supporting cast of course you're going to consistently get bumped from the first round.
Last I checked Wade was pretty damn good in college and before Shaq got to Miami. He has also carried Miami when Shaq has been out. In fact, it can be argued that Wade is carrying Shaq now, hiding the fact that Shaq is banged up and out-of-shape. Penny was also a great player without Shaq. Injuries and lack of conditioning did him in. Kobe seems to be doing well right now without Shaq as well. Lets try dropping Shaq on a team without guards and fowards and see how he does.
